POSITION ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION delegates, I the representative of the Russian Federation, wish to speak to the General Assembly. Illegal immigrations is becoming a major issue in our homeland due to Central Asian and Caucasus immigrants whom they violate their tourists visas and stay more than permitted in the countries and thus refusing to leave becoming illegal aliens. Although Russia encourages LEGAL migration into the country to relief the birth shortage, as we see illegal aliens as a direct treat to European safety.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is willingly to stop this, but our humongous border line and various countries we shared it make it more difficult and usual. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the border reinforcement had fall short thus immigrants easily smuggle into the country and establish in cities like Moscow. Also local police officer don’t do their work and deport them, they extortion them. Other way illegal immigrants enter the country, is legally, they came first as tourists or students and then they refuse to leave. In the recent years former President Putin has deported over 300 thousand illegal workers, still a small amount of the estimated 12 million that inhabit all the Russias. So, in finale, the Russian Federation is strong against the issue of illegal immigration, but favors legal. In order to prevent legal immigrant to become illegal, we propose harder measures to citizens that employed them, harder to get a student or tourist visa to countries that are “exporters” and regularize commerce with undeveloped countries to help them improve their living standards, as for immigration is directly proportional to the standard of living.
