A repetition? • • • • • • •

“Immaculate Virgin, I know very well that I am only a miserable wretch, and all I do is increase each day the number of my sins...” You told me the other day that was how you spoke to Our Mother. And I was confident in advising you with assurance to pray the Holy Rosary. Blessed be that monotony of Hail Marys which purifies the monotony of your sins! Hail Mary – Angelic Salutation • • •

Saint Bonaventure says that Mary will greet us with grace if we greet her with the Hail Mary. One day Saint Gertrude had a vision of our Lord counting gold coins. She summoned the courage to ask him what he was doing, and he answered, "I am counting the Hail Marys that you have said; this is the money with which you purchase heaven." The holy and learned Jesuit, Father Suarez, was so deeply aware of the value of the Angelic Salutation that he said he would gladly give all his learning for the price of one Hail Mary well said.

Why we should pray rosary • • • • • • •

St Louis de Montfort mentions: It gradually brings us a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ; It purifies our souls from sin; It gives us victory over all our enemies; It makes the practice of virtue easy; It sets us on fire with the love of our Lord; It enriches us with graces and merits; It supplies us with what is needed to pay all our debts to God and to our fellow-men, and finally, it obtains all kinds of graces from God.

"There is no surer means of calling down God's blessings upon the family... than the daily recitation of the Rosary." Pope Pius XII

"You always leave the Rosary for later, and you end up not saying it at all because you are sleepy. If there is no other time, say it in the street without letting anybody notice it. It will, moreover, help you to have presence of God." by St. Josemaria Escriva

"How beautiful is the family that recites the Rosary every evening." Pope John Paul II •"Of all prayers rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in graces; of all it is the one which is most pleasing to Mary, the Virgin Most Holy. Therefore, love the Rosary and recite it every day with devotion: this is the testament which I leave unto you so that you may remember me by it." St. Pius X •

Devil's tactic •

Being human, we easily become tired and slipshod, but the devil makes these difficulties worse when we are saying the Rosary. Before we even begin, he makes us feel bored, distracted, or exhausted; and when we have started praying, he oppresses us from all sides, and when after much difficulty and many distractions, we have finished, he whispers to us, "What you have just said is worthless. It is useless for you to say the Rosary. You had better get on with other things. It is only a waste of time to pray without paying attention to what you are saying; half-an-hour's meditation or some spiritual reading would be much better. Tomorrow, when you are not feeling so sluggish, you'll pray better; leave the rest of your Rosary till then." By tricks of this kind the devil gets us to give up the Rosary altogether or to say it less often, and we keep putting it off or change to some other devotion A community of Christ's disciples who are passionately in love with the Lord, and whose love is reflected in their ordinary lives.
