Rome & Sorrento
DAY 1 Travel Departure from Tampa to US Gateway airport, then to Rome. Depart the US in the early evening, arriving in Rome the following morning. DAY 2 Rome Arrival in Rome, transfer to hotel; Visit the Roman Forum and the Coliseum Welcome dinner in a typical roman “trattoria” DAY 3 Vatican City Morning visit at the Vatican Museum and St.Peter’s Free time Visit Castel S.Angelo and the Ara Pacis Dinner in the area. DAY 4 Walking tour Early in the day we head to the Capitoline hill, then the Theatre of Marcellus, the old Forum Boarium and the Circus Maximus. We procede along the Tiber until Ponte Fabricio and we visit the Tiber Island. At this point, we walk along the river up the Via Giulia. We will stop for a break in Piazza Farnese and Campo de Fiori. After lunch, we continue visiting the Renaissance quarter and we have dinner in the area. DAY 5 Sorrento Take the train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale (1.5 hrs). Transfer to Sorrento by private bus Check in at hotel Free time Dinner da FRANCO the popular “Pizzeria” of Sorrento
DAY 6 A day in Pompei *Transfer to Pompei by private bus + €. 25.00 Take the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii, arriving about 9 o’clock. Tour around the archeological site. Free time Back to hotel Dinner DAY 7 A day in Capri Morning hydrofoil to Capri. Visit the Augustus Gardens, boat tour of the island. Free time for lunch, relax and take a swim. Back to Sorrento Free dinner (menu a la càrte) at the “Antica Trattoria” a guaranteed discovery of the palate. DAY 8 Ercolano & Mt.Vesusius After breakfast leave to Ercolano by private bus and visit the site. After the visit and a short break for a snack, we head to Mt.Vesuvius. Guided visit of the crater. Back to Rome by train Dinner DAY 9 Free day in Rome Free day with different options; **Optional tours available (Half day - entrance fee included): Free dinner with menu a la càrte at “Di Rienzo” at the Pantheon
