Romans 9/11 How Men have misused these chapters to trash Paul’s Gospel ******* Paul’s Gospel to the Romans Paul was accused, by the Jews who opposed him, of turning the world upside down in Acts 17:6. If you have wondered what message he preached that brought him such success and persecution as spoken of in II Cor 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Since he had been unable to go to Rome he wrote his message down in this epistle to them. Philosophers have refused to hear his message but have distorted chapters 9 and 11 to suit their purposes. Just as John began his gospel with the declaration that Jesus lights every man that cometh into the world, (Jn 1:9) so Paul declares in Rom 1:16 “… I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Ro 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” The truth of God is revealed from heaven to every unrighteous act of men. The work of the Holy Spirit is totally faithful in convincing every man in the world of sin and unrighteousness. Every man is without excuse. Paul understood that the definition of unrightousness was the determined opposition of the person in his heart or inner man against the manifestation of the revelation of his guilt that he was receiving from God. He declares in chapter 2 Ro 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Paul’s definition of faith We notice the definition of faith as used by Paul is that a person responds to the voice of God in his conscience being guided by God’s Spirit. This is what Romans 1:17 tells us, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness…” A man tells a lie and instantly a sinking feeling comes in his conscience. “All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire,” comes from the living God speaking to his heart. It is the faithful work of God as spoken by Jesus in Jn 16:8 “…when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment…” How many are reproved of sin by the Holy Spirit? Every man in the whole world, the most distant undiscovered tribe is not only known to God but is being drawn to righteousness as spoken by Jer. 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” God gives to you and to me, to every man in the world according to his ways. This responding to the call of God to righteousness is the basis of all true faith. So the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. It is the living God administering guidance to the spirit of every man and as man humbles himself to unconditionally be guided by His Spirit in every circumstance his righteousness is from faith to faith. It is a living, on going process that is unfolded step by step in every circumstance of life, this is known as walking in the spirit in Romans chapter 8. Paul laid it out to the unrighteous council of Jerusalem with the declaration in Acts 23:1 “And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day. And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.” Again in Chapter 24 “… And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.” Notice the dynamic imperative message of the cross, the true righteousness so touches those who are unrighteous that the spirit of unrighteousness in them becomes instantly, angrily on the defensive, just as did the high priest who was so riled that he commanded them to smite him on the mouth. It was the same spirit reacting according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience that works in you if you are living in unrighteousness. You want the “nice guy image” but when someone repeats what the Holy Spirit is constantly whispering to you in your heart telling you
3
that you are resisting God and out of fellowship, in a word are unrighteous, your temper flares. Especially so, if you are of the clergy who has spent so much effort in building your image. The wrath of God that is being made real in your spirit of your unrighteousness and separation from wholehearted fellowship from God reacts by this Satanic spirit of the prince of the power of the air that was manifested in the command to smite him on the mouth, and give him 39 stripes for getting so deep in my heart where God is condemning and calling me to righteousness. Ro 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” Paul explains it this way in Rom. 10:3 “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. …The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Faith is responding to God who is speaking to you in your innermost being, in your heart. God is faithfully speaking to you and to me about every sin every day If you are not fully surrendered to the will and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your heart you cannot understand the gospel. The failure to heed His voice turns your heart into a blindness or spiritual stupidity that brings about all the evils you become part of, as you continue hardening your heart. Jesus declared to Nicodemus in Jn. 3:3 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The recognized clergy of our day have all gone through a scholasticism that denies Paul’s definition of faith and they cannot see the Kingdom of God. On the whole organized religion teaches that faith is believing in a theological system. They teach that to believe is to believe the historic words and texts in the Bible, going then on with their theories about God’s laws. When the Bible says Heb 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” They leave off the latter verse and declare that it is the Word of the Bible and ignore the personally connotation of Jesus speaking to every heart as spoken of in these scriptures. Since they are in disobedience to the word of Jesus speaking to their hearts and are living in unrighteousness, they cannot see the kingdom of God within us.
4
The error in organized religion Ignoring God’s righteousness we walk according to the world, according to the prince of the power of the air as spoken of in Eph 2:1 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” Understanding this we can see the error in organized religion is teaching another god and manifesting a false gospel. Organized religion pivots on the clergy concept. The clergy are those who are professionally trained and this training is in what is called theology. This term was unknown in the Bible and was not in the apostle’s vocabulary. It implies the study of God out of which we have the study conducted according to a system explained by legal definitions such as attributes and formed into a system called doctrine. It is not the doctrine of the Bible but it is taught that believing in Jesus according to the system, that is to say their doctrine, is faith. They are making a distinction of persons which is a sin before God. Jas 2:9 “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” Claiming for the clergy a superior position. The error is in leading men to be guided by the clergy when true Christianity consists in each man being guided by Jesus who directly speaks to each one.
The gospel is about relationships about intentions not laws We have been taught for generations that the gospel is about spiritual laws. The gospel is about relationships, about intentions not about laws. This is the apostate subtlety that has happened to the revelation of Jesus just as it happened to the revelation of God in fiery Zion on Mt. Sinai. As we work through Romans 9 and 11 we see that prophesied by Paul in 11:24 “For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob…” Reconciliation is about our relationship to our personal God from whom flows all life and all joy forever. The pugnacious attitude produced by the legal approach makes man to understand faith to be pushing God to fulfill his laws. This Satanic attitude is demonstrated in the temptation of Jesus (turn this stone into bread) and the constant
5
demand by the Jewish leaders that Jesus show a sign. When we are reconciled we ask to be used by God for what ever his purpose as he guides us step by step just as he did David, Daniel, Elijah and Paul. So called theology is making the gospel into a system of laws and implies that all can confide in them to regulate their relationship with God. This ignores the true gospel which is about our relationship with his spiritual presence which is in reality touching and convincing us of sin and upon true repentance gives us assurance of our reconciliation and acceptance bearing witness that we are in reality part of his Kingdom. Ro 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; Ro 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; Ro 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, We understand that Jesus will not appear again on earth until he comes again with all the saints with him. That the Bible teaches that God turns down his glory, walks, and talks and appears unto men is obvious from the following texts in the Bible. An illustration of this is Moses who expressed a desire to see him in all of his glory in Ex. 33:20, when he was shown a part of his back. The Eternal Word turning down his glory and becoming Jesus. All of the literal appearances of God are denied by the Seminaries and Bible schools who train our ministers. Is this not manifesting a hostile intention towards God? They are taught from another higher source than the scriptures which they call the one ultimate metaphysical principal. To adjust things to this principal they declare that these scriptures that speak about God appearing to men are for the simple people but those who have been enlightened by their philosophical ultimate metaphysical principal understand that these texts are anthropomorphism’s. (Attributing human characteristics to something inhuman: for instance Mickey Mouse is an anthropomorphorism.)
The true gospel of Jesus is about relationships Relationship to God. Relationship to our fellow humans. Relationship to all of God’s creation including angels and fallen angels known as demons and Satan. Jesus started off his work with the Sermon on the Mount speaking about relationships Blessed are the poor in spirit, Blessed, Blessed, relationships. Professional clergy, who run the religious world, start theology by defining God according to philosophy as a set of absolutes as foundations upon which one exercises faith. In fact they are teaching the impersonal god of destiny of the pagan Greeks and ancient Babilonians that god can be manipulated by using his laws to an advantage. This is also known as witchcraft. There are just two religious concepts. The wicked concept is –I manipulate God to get what I want. The true concept is -God I am unworthy but from here on forever manipulate me to be what you want.
They break the first commandment teaching another god who cannot be moved
7
This makes the clergy wicked pagans who are in friendship with the world and enemies of God and enemies of your soul. They can be known by the fact that they never do more than give lip service to repentance for they have never repented. They teach, what they understand to be a deeper truth, that God is perfection and cannot be moved because that would make him more perfect and that would also leave him less perfect before, so that God is a simple being, which means stripped down to his essence. They therefore believe that God is outside of time and that all things are known by him from all eternity. For they reason, it would make him change to know more. (Note: Time is a succession of events as far as we as well as God experience it.)
The clergy definition of the covenant of redemption is a cunningly devised fable This was spoken of by II Peter 1:16 “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” They have invented their own definition of the Covenant of Redemption creating an unscriptural myth, in which God the Father supposedly says to the Son, Of all the people who will emerge in the Creation there will be so many who will be saved. These exact number of people will commit this exact quantity of sins, implying that it is so many tons measured down to the last fraction of an ounce. Who will go and pay for them? and the Son answers saying I will go and I will pay. Notice the pagan supposition that God predestined all things before the foundation of the world. From this they then build their doctrine on a limited atonement made only to save those who were predestined to be saved, teaching that these can never be lost because all things are done by the power of God. This is all implied in the Sovereignty of God theory where it is taught that all things were predestined by God when he decreed the creation. Here are some points of it. God causes everything to happen from all eternity. God causes man to do good. God causes men to be saved by his power from all eternity. God causes all others to be cast into the lake of fire. God causes men to sin. God may make some of them serve him for a while and then make them turn away and cast them into the Lake of Fire. No one does anything on earth or in heaven except God made them do it. No one has free will to do good or bad.
8
God secretly controls our free will, what we think is free is us doing what was predestined. (These summaries are from Dr. Charles E Brewster’s book “What did God Say” Scriptural Foundations Publications, Miamisburg, OH 45342.) Notice that this subtle doctrine blames God for everything that happens. It attributes everyone who will be lost to God’s lack of calling them. For they say, we are saved by “grace plus nothing.” One can do nothing When God decreed the creation he determined every thought, attitude, and act of all that would live and all that they would do at every point in time. Even though they are unconscious of it they are compelled to every sin and every act forever by something like instinct and all things must conform to the foreknown plan. Those who do not believe in their great truth of the Unmoved mover (the simple being) are accused of being ignorant and unorthodox and yes, heretics, only those who are in this so called deep understanding about God are orthodox. Those who oppose this view are heretics. Those of the reformed theology are the purists of this doctrine and there are many others who object to certain points but all theologians that I know of, hold to this basic unchristian definition of God. With this basic premise all theologians break the first commandment and are evil men setting forth a pagan god. If we investigate we find that the pagan philosophers developed this Metaphysical god of destiny little by little over the centuries. Metaphysics was kept secret by the high priesthood, under penalty of death, for thousands of years. The Greeks began to build on their secret truths and we have this much recorded. Thales 625 BC years before Jesus declared even the gods are subject to the one great metaphysical principal. Anaximander 610 The one great ultimate metaphysical principal is something unknowable, unlimited, indescribable, ineffable, and beyond all description. Heraclitus 540 God is constant an always forever unchanging. Xenophanes 560 God is motionless. Parmenides 515 God is eternally full and complete, unchangeable and inhabits a timeless eternity. God is uncreated and imperishable, for it is entire, unmovable, and without end. It was not in the past, nor shall it be, since it is now all at once. Plato 428 It is impossible for God to change, God is immutable, God is beyond emotion. God is all-knowing, and all-powerful-possessing these qualities timelessly. So it is not proper to speak of God in the past or in the future. Aristotle 384 God is the unmoved mover. God is absolutely immutable and impassable. The Stoics with the excerption of Cicero 106; All events in world history are placed into a single causal system in the world if only one would look at things from
9
God’s point of view Each individual evil is actually for a good purpose when it is considered as part of God’s overall plan. Philo of Alexandria lived at the time of Christ taught how God is transcendent ineffable, immutable, impassable, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, incorporeal and not susceptible to any passion at all, Scriptures which contradict his views are called anthropomorphisms for the benefit of the duller folk who cannot understand the true nature of God they explain. (Remember, Anthropomorphisms means attributing to God human mannerisms, Micky Mouse is an anthropomorphism applied to a mouse. They by this cunningly devised fable put God in the same category with the mouse.) The teachings in the Seminaries reflect these concepts. They teach the office of philosopher who is the aristocrat over all; whom they call “the Pastor”. Counseling on every thing from being present when the furniture arrives so that no one is offended by you moving it later, to how to deal with dissent among the members and how to work around it to accomplish your agenda. Making you into the supreme director of the institution where you are pastor. I do not wish to overlook the super efforts and sincerity that we as pastors apply to this false insight we are given by our educational system. Their definition of the office of pastor is an impossible task. To move from the inferior lay minister category one must study somewhere to be real clergy. Until you get a mortar board on your head at graduation you are not of the clergy class. It is this basic philosophic concrete that is placed under the mortar board worn at the graduation which we have mentioned, that is the qualification to lead a congregation. If you deny the plain teaching of the Bible and accept their pagan definitions of the “god of destiny” you are accepted among the clergy. If you do not you are called unorthodox and even heretic. You are considered a danger in their congregation if you seek after truth, instead of after their goals they seek, which is after the strengthening and multiplication of the institution. The Bible admonition is for every man to teach his own son, and every church to raise up its own ministers. The Universities and seminaries are patterned after the philosophers. Plato taught that one must abandon his family and go to the academy to seek wisdom by being bound together in another fellowship without envy and consult the spirits. He argued in his work “The Republic” that society had to have justice and only a philosopher can know what that is. He then said that he must have the ability to enforce his decisions and these enforcers were called the guardians. This governing combination have been called aristocrats and all the rest of us in the society are to be considered the lower class or riffraff. The graduates of our religious systems are called pastors but in reality they are philosopher kings. They are like CEO’s or presidents of the institution. They have set in concrete their understanding that they are superior and in charge. This foolishness of philosophy rules our educational system and has been so successful because of it uses adulation to make one feel superior. It is this quality of making you feel superior that has made philosophy dominate through the ages. All part
10
of the cement under the mortar boards at graduation, to make the graduate have a take charge attitude as a pastor. To understand this clearly read Plato’s book “The Republic”. You will be appalled, when you read about his free love and men and women doing their exercises together naked, to think that the church has been ruined by placing his philosophy as a higher wisdom to interpret the Bible. Just read about God giving gifts of pastor teachers to the church in Eph. 4 “for the edification of the saints, for the work of the ministry.” By this seminary training they are taught to be the ministers with the superior philosophy and they develop their ministry with little or no regard for the work of ministry given to every Christian. The leader called pastor subjects all to his ministry. For clergy signifies aristocracy and the members are the lower class. The Bible made no distinction but it is considered to be a sin to have respect of person. “…if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin…” James 2:9 The great work of God in the Anabaptists was carried out by itinerate peddlers and shoe cobblers. Little by little the philosophy and training of Calvin changed the spiritual movement making it controlled by the trained clergy. The mighty overcoming church that survived the dark ages and lighted the world for the reformations was transformed to the Greek columned institutions that are known as the typical First Baptist or Presbyterian Church of today. They are totally subjugated to the rule of the philosopher king and his agenda, which consists in getting as many as possible to become spectators who can basically only participate in the program offered. This has brought about the death of Christianity everywhere. Europe has become post-Christian and this predestination doctrine is always bringing all to spiritual death for eternity.
Jesus did not teach tithing The members must suffer constant darts, in many parts, the pastor openly accuses them that they are robbing God if they do not give their 10% or tithe. The truth is that they are being defrauded, spoiled and robbed by this pastor’s philosophy. While the philosopher pastor’s theme is that it is not by works, that there is no legalism, however in this vital point for the building of the institution it is important to contradict this and preach that it is legally taught that all must pay the tithe and one will be cursed in his finances if he does not pay tithes. However, it is not the member but the pastor who is the true robber and sacker of the treasures of God, defrauding the members of their participation as the Spirit leads, not just in the money but in all things. In his teaching of tithing he reveals he is unaware of what walking in the spirit is, for he is in rebellion to God’s voice in his own conscience. This is the reason he teaches his message that everyone is robbing God who does not pay the tithe. In Lu 14:33 we read that Jesus in the New Testament teaches 100%. “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Reading only one verse it is seen that the New Testament teaches that all must be given
11
to God (but not to the institution). To be truly born again one must come to God and give his all, his heart which includes his possessions. He is then to be guided by the Spirit in all things including in his giving. The philosopher spoiler is robbing his congregation of the blessing of walking in the spirit in true conversion. And on this point he exhibits his heartlessness for his congregation. He is using all of the Bible to teach his philosophical impersonal metaphysical principal. Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. 25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. He is the enemy therefore of the personal Jesus that made the world and came and died for all men and knows the thoughts and intentions and gives to every man according to his works. He first makes God an allegory and then the whole Bible an allegory. If he is not guided himself by the Holy Spirit but tolerates sin in his life he is under an evil anointing for he does not understand about the Spirit leading in all things. The true pastor teacher searches out how the Lord is leading in every heart and seeks to lead accordingly as the Spirit is working in everyone in the fellowship. Jesus told the Rich Young Ruler when he asked, "Teacher, what good deed must I do to inherit eternal life?" that he must give not 10% but to sell all. (Compare: Matt. 19:16-26; Mark 10:17-27; Luke 18:18 We must consider that all that we have belongs to God and administer every part of our lives by the direction of His spirit.
The true Covenant of Redemption The Covenant of Redemption was understood and taught by the apostle as mentioned in Tit 1:1 “Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” The true Covenant of Redemption occurred from eternity as spoken of in Heb 9:13 “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” There is perhaps an eco of this matter in the words of God when he said in Ge 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone;”… There was a decision made in eternity past that it was not good for God to be alone. It was determined that God would bring about a kingdom. For it to be the most glorious
12
possible it would need to be bound together by unfeigned, unforced true love. It would be forever in growth. To be forever it must have absolute justice and freedom in the spontaneous actions of every one in the kingdom. This spontaneous action of love was indispensable for the kingdom to have the greatest dynamic possible. True love is in the intention and could be defined as having an, Using bigger words we could say that the ultimate intention behind all intentions is to consecrate to ones whole being forever to impartial benevolence all unselfish motive doing what is best for God and all men forever. Not by works but in total dependence of the strength from God in doing his will. This is what is meant by believing on Jesus and this dramatic change is wrought by the work of the Holy Spirit directly working in our heart with us and this is called repentance. God dedicated himself to these principals of Love, Justice and Freedom without reservations. This is expressed by the wonderful awe filling words of “Holy, Holy, Holy”. Love is a motive that sometimes is manifested in emotion. But the motive extends to the uttermost. As expressed in Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Dedicated to the uttermost is what Holy Holy Holy is expressing as in the texts Isa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Re 4:8”And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” Notice the eternal connotation of these words in heaven. An illustration could be made just as God created a sheep to illustrate our relationship to him perhaps we could use a spider to illustrate how God’s eternal Spirit is in living communication with all living things. The spider makes his web and does not have to run around it to know what is happening there. The moment a fly hits the web he goes directly where his prey is as he is in contact with it in all of its parts. In this way the scriptures tell us that God is in contact with all spirits even though he is conversing on his throne. God is setting on his throne in the midst of the heavenly host but his spirit is at the same time in a personal way in contact with all the living. Moses prayed in his anguish Num. 16:22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? God is the God of the spirits of all flesh. The wickedness in Sodom is an example, Gen 18:20 “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.” God knows the sparrows plight, the hunger of every poor man, the rebellion of every soul that is resisting his will, the thoughts and intentions of every heart. This is known by the Eternal Spirit in contact with all living. This is the intercession that is being made for us.

This is part of the Divine nature and is exclusive of the true and living God. God the Father, Jesus the Word, and the Holy Spirit are one in this awesome reality. There can be no other Gods before the true and Living God. Re 5:11 “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” Therefore saying this; we understand that Jesus unerringly walked in the Eternal Spirit in all things while here on earth. Out of this Holy, Holy, Holy from all eternity was the Divine intention to do the Divine uttermost for this eternal kingdom ever in expansion. The true Covenant of Redemption is in this Divine intention. God’s intention and God’s perfection in his great power to be totally just, totally attentive, and totally impartial and totally dedicated to give to every man according to his works. This is the mark of the Love of God in all the earth in all ages. Gods holy intention was from all eternity to totally sacrifice all as expressed in Phil. 2:4 “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” This intention to publicly pay the ultimate price which was the reproach and suffering and death of Jesus in his earthly body in which he had poured himself out into human flesh, laying aside his divine perception of all living things, was to be manifested at the most effective moment in history as mankind collectively developed. This moment of Jesus coming to earth is known as the fullness of time as spoken of in Gal. 4:4 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father”. These are things that only the Father in heaven can determine as the sum of all things going on in all of the creation in his

Eternal Spirit are weighed in justice including the response he is receiving from his drawing and convincing of sin, and judgment and righteousness. God is in time and is working out the construction of the Eternal Kingdom with relationships that are the most precious because they are by unforced spontaneous interactions of free wills.
The Ministry of Reconciliation The kingdom is glorious for all eternity because it exists bonded together in true unforced love or shall we say in true freedom of choice and the dynamic of the effort of each one in it, as they exercise their free will to please God. Each one is brought to repentance which is the indispensable requirement for reconciliation. As long as I live to please myself more than please God I am not a new creature. The Eternal Spirit makes all suffer the reproach of God’s frown on our rebelliousness as is manifested in our spirit towards His spirit. 2Co 7:9 “Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death”. God in his faithfulness is striving with everyone. Gen 6.3 As we came to maturity we all sinned. We have determined that no matter if it displeases our parents or God we will do what we please. In this moment the thing that makes all innocent children so sweet, the presence of God in them, leaves his abiding in us. Just as happened to Paul when he says in Rom 7:9 “For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.” Paul lived in fellowship with God until he grew up to know the law. The very word “reconciled” implies that we were once in fellowship and we are speaking about returning to that fellowship. We are now receiving the Spirit not from within but by our rebellion we have forced him to from without, convict us of our lack of communion to feel the sadness in our spirit. What is this godly sorrow? There is a sorrow in our spirit by which we know that we are out of communion with God. All of us have known the communion of God from infancy. Jesus lights every man who comes into the world we are told in John 1:8. The stark contrast of having and then losing this communion is a common experience of all who have sinned and was first known by Adam and Eve when they realized they were naked. It was not the audible voice of God but the sorrow they experienced in their spirit that made them know that they were naked. All men have sinned and all of us need reconciliation. But how can we find reconciliation with the Eternal Spirit of God condemning us? The first answer was making an atonement by sacrificing living animals, taking their lives, from the time the first skins were place on them by God as clothing. God again came down and guided and convinced them by the great revelation of his supernatural power in the exodus, then the giving of the written code of the law in Lev. 4:4 by which each man offered his animal by slitting its throat with his own hand,
15
and then the priest finished the ceremony, that the seriousness of full consecration to God be impressed on our conscience. When the time was fully come God sent his own son who emptied himself of his divine universe encompassing conscience, taking on himself the limitation of mankind. Illustrating the great truth to us of God’s unlimited commitment, to whatever might be the cost, of his consecration to renew and nourish whosoever would repent. Guiding and transforming them to have an honored place in the eternal kingdom. Notice from the first animal skin that was offered to Eve for clothing until to us today the atonement was to bring about our surrender to the Eternal Spirit that was lighting our heart, to bring us into harmony to God. All the sacrifices of God in giving the skins for clothing, Able on the altar and those in the Temple were to bring about the reconciliation in the heart to God by the reflexion of the hearer to the Spirit of God speaking to their heart. Jesus represented the Father and went to the cross to fulfill the Holy, Holy Holy intention of God to do the uttermost to influence a free man to come to repentance and reconciliation. The doctrine of the apostasy is that Jesus paid for our sins that we might be reconciled with out this surrender to God. The doctrine is still a variation on the idea of the indulgences of Luther’s day. The offense of going against the Eternal Spirit which is a sin, could be forgiven only on the basis of repentance. The law is repeated in Eze 18:4 “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." If this were true the law of the soul that sinneth it shall die would mean nothing if as soon as you are sorry and repent you would be forgiven. All would plunge into sin knowing that at anytime they could be forgiven. The law would not accomplishing its purpose in practice. It would be like having a speed limit but no matter your speed if you told the Patrolman when you were stopped by him you were sorry he could not give you a ticket. The reign of Christ in the millennium will be with a rod of iron. All will be superb because every law will be enforced with zero tolerance. However if one speeds because the dying wife needs immediate treatment, the ticket is taken before a judge who verifying the evidence finds in the law a greater good clause, which is applied to his case and by this he is forgiven. This covering of the crime by investigation of the motive and the forgiveness of the crime because of it, does not weaken the speed limit law by implying that forgiveness is possible for any reason but strengthens the government by the judicial use of mercy according to intention. This is an illustration of the atonement or covering that this term implies. The atonement is not like a commercial transaction in which Jesus paid a ransom to God of his blood as an indulgence for our sin. Sin is forgiven only upon the response to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the placing of all our heart in the hands of God just as Isaac was offered to allow all of his blood drain from his body with the razor sharp knife raised to slay him. It was so sharp to assure that he would suffer the least possible. When God sees as he saw the intention in the heart of Abraham at that
16
moment that we have the whole hearted intention to serve Him at all cost, our high priest who took the cup and said this is the new covenant in my blood, and shed great drops of blood on his brow and went to the cross for us, intercedes before the Father pointing out our intention and pleads for us that we be made part of the new covenant, as we manifest our intention “not my will but thine be done”. This merciful atonement works toward strengthening the kingdom and strengthening the law that says the soul that sins must die, and brings about a greater and better result for eternity. In the conception of the construction of the Kingdom from the moment that it was determined that voluntary unforced love was the intention that all must have, to make the Kingdom not only the most dynamic but as necessary for it to endure forever without fracturing as it did in the rebellion of Lucifer. God also brought to the Kingdom this intention within which Jesus would manifest on the part of God his love or intention to the uttermost from the foundation of the world. When God said “let us make man in our own image” the atonement was already there from the foundation of the world. We see that Jesus paid for our sins on the cross not as a commercial transaction. The legalistic presentation in this way can only be made by those who have never tasted of the joy in the spirit that comes with reconciliation. The commercial spirit of using the cross to ward off evil, pleading the blood or using the call for the blood of Jesus in rituals to accomplish something is taking the stance of manipulating God. Or in Catholicism of supposedly administering the extra good works of the Saints who had more good works than they needed in what is called the “Treasury of Merits”. It is the metaphysical witchcraft approach of the metaphysical god. You cannot approach the God of Abraham in this way for he looks on the intentions of your heart.
Total surrender to the will of God is an obvious price of reconciliation The restoration of our communion with God known as reconciliation is the manner by which we once again come into total unconditional obedience to God. The problem has been that once we are under the frown of God we feel that the Eternal Spirit is a condemning and gruff voice that is telling us “All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire”. “You could die before tomorrow and you are out of fellowship with God.” 2Co 5:15 “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the
17
world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” How was this reconciliation wrought by the death of Jesus on the cross? Not as the reformed manipulator theology teaches of a certain quantity being paid for every sin by Jesus. The reconciliation was purchased and wrought by God sending Jesus and allowing him to illustrate the supreme intention that all must give from their heart to be part of the eternal kingdom. Read in Lev. 3:2 “And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar…” God slew the first animals before Adam and of the skins made clothing. Under the glory of the law given from the fiery Zion above, every man for his sin was to bring the best animal and take it by the head and slay it with his own hand. These bloody acts were to bring man to reconciliation. They illustrated since the life is in the blood of the fully surrendered will in a perfect intention to serve God as the price of being part of the eternal kingdom. All of this turned into a mere formality. Jesus came and offered himself to the uttermost on the cross, to make the most dramatic possible influence on our free will that God can make, to bring men to the full intention of loving God and his kingdom more than life itself. This is known as the atonement and is to bring us to reconciliation. Jesus expressed over and over this relationship as indispensable and illustrated it on the cross. Mt 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Mt 16:24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Where is the verse that says that Jesus paid for our sins on the cross? He knew no sin but gave us the most dramatic illustration to bring us to losing our life for his sake by following his example of consecrating all to God’s kingdom and cause. When we in repentance do this we are in communion with the Eternal Spirit of God and this gives us evidence in our spirit that we are sons of God and reconciled to Him. Ro 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Ac 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
18
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. propitiation --that by which God is rendered propitious, i.e., by which it becomes consistent with his character and government to pardon and bless the sinner. The propitiation does not procure his love or make him loving; it only renders it consistent for him to execise his love towards sinners. In Rom. 3:25 and Heb. 9:5 (A.V., "mercy-seat") the Greek word _hilasterion_ is used. It is the word employed by the LXX. translators in Ex. 25:17 and elsewhere as the equivalent for the Hebrew _kapporeth_, which means "covering," and is used of the lid of the ark of the covenant (Ex. 25:21; 30:6). This Greek word (hilasterion) came to denote not only the mercy-seat or lid of the ark, but also propitation or reconciliation by blood. On the great day of atonement the high priest carried the blood of the sacrifice he offered for all the people within the veil and sprinkled with it the "mercy-seat," and so made propitiation. In 1 John 2:2; 4:10, Christ is called the "propitiation for our sins." Here a different Greek word is used (hilasmos). Christ is "the propitiation," because by his becoming our substitute and assuming our obligations he expiated our guilt, covered it, by the vicarious punishment which he endured. (Comp. Heb. 2:17, where the expression "make reconciliation" of the A.V. is more correctly in the R.V. "make propitiation.")
The joy of communion with God allows us to be victorious over sin When we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to consecrate our hearts in this whole hearted intention we receive the joy of communion with God. We are reconciled and we no longer fear death as we have this witness directly from God in our hearts. Our conscience is cleansed.
19
Heb 2:15 “And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.” Ro 5:10 “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement”. The reconciliation promised in the apostate conditions of today’s theology is a theoretical reconciliation and a false hope that is leaving those who trust in it in the throes of desperation at the moment of their parting from this world into hell. Notice how the word reconciliation is used in 1 Cor 7:11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. It is used again in Mt 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Is reconciliation used in a theoretical sense here? They teach a theory about Jesus applying his blood to our case and that we are reconciled to God in heaven. By faith we are to believe that as we continue on in sin and our imperfection we can be reassured by their theory. The problem is that the Holy Spirit continues to convict us of our unrighteousness and this is what will send us to hell when we die and we find that the theory was only a clever ruse of the devil when it is too late. The word means the same in our reconciliation with God as in 2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. Notice in Ro 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. The reconciliation is not an act that saves us but it brings us into communion with God and this eternal life of God abiding in us keeps us forever as we abide and are participating in this communion. Sin breaks that communion for by it we shut him out of our heart and from outside His spirit convicts of our rebellion.
Iniquity was found in thee…by the multitude of thy merchandise This simple gospel of the kingdom as preached by Jesus, to be part of the kingdom we must dedicate ourselves to the uttermost as God has done, as He offered his son, and the Son came in the flesh and offered himself, which he illustrated in the most dramatic fashion on the cross. That God is working with each one to bring us to repentance that we may be reconciled to his kingdom and by Jesus’ death we come to being guided and taught in all things by Jesus our great Shepherd.
20
The operation of Satan is to subtly move us from the personal God of Abraham to the impersonal metaphysical philosophical principal. Changing this basic premise, all the manipulations, the merchandising of Satan has been brought into religion as was done by Satan before he was thrown out of heaven. You are to be honored as a superior class if you become clergy. The prestige of his world is merchandised. You must study at an institution of learning to be recognized. Once recognized you are rewarded in Satan’s merchandising system as described in Eze. 28:15 “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stone of fire” The original hebrew word was “r@kullah” -- trade (as peddled):--merchandise, traffic. Jesus our only intercessor 1Ti 2:3 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” Reconciliation is a change from enmity to friendship. It is mutual, i.e., it is a change wrought in both parties who have been at enmity. (1.) In Col. 1:21, 22, the word there used refers to a change wrought in the personal character of the sinner who ceases to be an enemy to God by wicked works, and yields up to him his full confidence and love. In 2 Cor. 5:20 the apostle beseeches the Corinthians to be "reconciled to God", i.e., to lay aside their enmity. Notice how the doctrine has been distorted in the following comments of Arthur Pink which are typical of those who believe they are saved by believing doctrine which they say changes God but does not change us?. (2.) Rom. 5:10 refers not to any change in our disposition toward God, but to God himself, as the party reconciled. Romans 5:11 teaches the same truth. From God we have received "the reconciliation" (R.V.), i.e., he has conferred on us the token of his friendship. So also 2 Cor. 5:18, 19 speaks of a reconciliation originating with God, and consisting in the removal of his merited wrath. In Eph. 2:16 it is clear that the apostle does not refer to the winning back of the sinner in love and loyalty to God, but to the restoration of God's forfeited favour. This is effected by his justice being satisfied, so that he can, in consistency with his own nature, be favourable toward sinners. Justice demands the punishment of sinners. The death of Christ satisfies justice, and so reconciles God to us. This reconciliation makes God our friend, and enables him to pardon and save us. (See ATONEMENT.)
21
They are teaching a theoretical reconciliation for they know nothing of practical heart warming, life transforming, purifying, reconciliation that comes by repentance and the joy of full communion with God. God seated on his throne or turning down his glory and appearing to Abraham has this mark of divinity of being the Living God: He knows the thoughts and intents of every one and gives to everyman according to his works no matter where He is. Heb 9:14 says, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” The answer is that as we follow in the footsteps of our Savior we are led by His Eternal Spirit to surrender all just as Jesus through the Eternal Spirit prayed, not my will but thine be done.. We can arrive at this place before him only by pleading our total inability by our strength to serve and follow Him. As we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. When we surrender all to Him, remember He looks on our intention, we who have been convinced of our sin and our rebellion by the Eternal Spirit as we follow are brought into whole hearted communion. This is the ministry of reconciliation that is the ministry of every one who walks by the Spirit. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God,” Our conscience is purged and we serve the living God. This is the heart of the gospel, that I have preached. Staying in this dependence and communion is known as the “grace that saves” in the Bible. As we continue day by day to walk in this communion it is certain that we will be gathered to our fathers and walk with Moses and all the saints in the presence of God on the street of gold forever. Ro 6:22 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” George Fox said, “The grace that comes from Christ it seasons the heart, and the words are sanctified, and this is not a notion, but all be in the notion that speak of the thing, and be out of the grace and salvation. And you that believe people must have sin, whilst they are upon the earth, are them that keeps people in their sins, and so thou hast judged thyself to be the minister of sin, as thou mayst read the fruits in thy own book.”
Roman’s 9’s true message Paul here addresses the stubborn pride of the Jews who insisting that they were special by their generations and traditions from Abraham and insisted that they would have no part with gentile believers. There were others that insisted the gentile believers had to fulfill all of their law to be part of the kingdom of God. He once again shows that being of the blood line is not enough, but they must have personally responded and received the word of the Lord spoken to them personally as it was only the children of the promise that were saved. This passage is about God’s careful searching of every heart and about his knowing the intention of every one of us as we respond to Him. This passage is not teaching that
22
everyone’s destiny is known from the womb but that the struggle in Rebecca’s womb was caused by the response of the one who was in position to be born first against the Spirit of God and the reception of the one to be born secondly to the Spirit of God. The insinuation here of accusing God of arbitrarily choosing some individuals to be saved and others to be lost, in essence to be unjust, will be rejected by all who walk in the eternal spirit of God. Paul’s message to the proud descendents of Abraham is that the only true descendents of Abraham are those yield to and walk in the spirit. They which are the children of the flesh that is to say blood descendents; these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. Men who hear God’s voice and follow Him are known as children of the promise. The text tells us in Gen. 25:21 “And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.” Rebecca suffered much from the intense struggle of her sons in her womb. In her suffering she pleaded with the Lord and he told her that there was not one but two babies to be born and they were to become two nations and that they were of different personalities that were struggling one with the other and that the older would serve the younger. It would not be by the blood line by which the oldest son was blessed but by the one who would walk according to the promise as he regarded the voice of God dealing with every man. Of course the Jews knew many of the scriptures by memory and he sites the text in Mal. 1:2 where he speaks about the difference in the tribal descendants. “I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.” He illustrates from this scripture written more than a a thousand years after their birth again the poverty of Esau’s descendants who inherited the wealth of Abraham and Isaac who was a sportsman and hunter and his nation’s lack of the spiritual seeking from the Lord, and how these descendants known as Edom were abandond. The scriptures do not say as the philosophers have so implied that these men and their descendents were predestined from the foundation of the world to be abandond or to be blessed. There is no text that teaches this in the Bible. Rather in the womb before they were born, it tells us, God knew the predisoposition of Jacob was to respond in his spirit. Paul was hated by the Jews for he taught that the gentiles could become part of the kingdom of God and they believed it was legaly only for themselves. Paul said that they were looking at the legal part while the spiritual was what God looked for. It was the response in their spirit to the call of God that made one a true child of Abraham a
23
child of the promise. They were looking only to the geneology. They were opposing God in their spirit, they were unrighteous, insisting that they were the exclusively chosen and to this opposition Paul asks; cannot not God who made you have the criteria that he has for all of the earth that you must heed his call to be part of his promise? The Jews were intent on forcing their claims with God. Their understanding of faith was that it was to use the scriptures and God to reinforce their claims of being the exclusive chosen of God. Their understanding of faith was defined in just believing the letter of the law and they confided in their legal interpretation of the law and criticized God or anyone who did not agree with them, while they were ignoring their consciences. God is not responsible for the actions of Esau nor Jacob nor for anyone. His call is universal and is “whosoever will may come”. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Re 22:17 makes the universal call “…the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
God forbid If God sees the dispositions of two boys after they are conceived and before they are born and responds to the one that follows him is he unrighteous? If he sees the non Jews or gentiles respond to His voice and responds to them is he unrighteous? He is saying, God forbid that you my brothers in the flesh, in your unrighteousness are ignoring God speaking to you in your hearts and in the greatest unrighteousness are accusing the Holy Spirit of God and also accuse me or if anyone accuses God of unrighteousness, let be it known that they are the enemies of when I am preaching this gospel of being the spirit of Satan. Is God unrighteous for setting aside the rebellious Jews who century after century, generation in generation have ignored his voice and receiving the non Jews who yield and obey Him, drawing them to himself, and making them children of the living God? Paul shows that God is righteous in his mercy, and can he not show mercy to those who yield to him and after much long suffering of the insolence of the unrighteous can he not deliver them into wrath. Was he not right to call Pharaoh a vessel of destruction after so powerfully convincing him ten times by such powerful signs and wonders did not God harden his heart by manifesting to him his unrighteousness as he called out for help and then returned to his own stubborn way? He has raised everyone up and called them, and those who despise his call, can he not call them vessels fitted to destruction? God did not fit them for destruction from all eternity but by calling them and by their rejection they were fitted for destruction. The phrase “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and
24
another unto dishonour?” Is not God speaking this to us as well the Jews of his day? Using the words of Amos about God being a potter illuminates the work of God in our hearts. It is not that God formed everyone from the beginning but on the contrary is calling out a people for his name from all generations. Those who resist his call are formed by their resistence into vessels of destruction. Those who yield and are pliable in his hands are formed into vessels of edification to the kingdom of God forever. God’s action as potter is going forth personally making us as clay into vessels fitted for wrath or vessels prepared to work and dwell in the New Jerusalem forever. Isaiah seven hundred years before had proclaimed that Israel would be condemned as Gomorrah and Sodoma with only a remnent left. Jesus in his divinity dealing personally with every heart is the rock of offense upon which the kingdom is built. Notice that the Jews were elected but the great majority were lost forever. We see in this that the way the word election is handled in todays foreknowledge teaching is very different from the understanding of Paul in his preaching.
Ignorant of God's righteousness Paul could not be clearer: “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Multitudes in the world knew nothing of the doctrine of the living God of Judiaism and this was the reason he preached everywhere as in Athens, “In Him we move and have our being.” In chapter 10 “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” They looked to the letter of the law but Paul says they must listen to Jesus speaking to their heart for: “The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; … For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” How can they hear without a preacher? It is this compassion for his fellow Jews and the whole world that is behind the great commision. Where does Paul’s message begin? It begins with God in his personal testimony. The message of Jesus in Acts 9 speaking to his heart “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” The comparrison was to the ox who is guided by the sharp prod. It is the Holy Spirit who is pricking and prodding, convincing every man of sin, righteousness and judgement. It is the guidance of God to every one on earth to be in the eternal kingdom. “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” this personel Word is pricking your heart and mine and everyone in all creation. Paul cites the prophets Moses and Isaiah who confirm this universal working in the hearts of the Living God. Upon this clarified understanding of the only Living God, Paul continues with the accusations of God against the Jews who reject Jesus. It
25
infuriates the Jews as well as all the hearers be they so called Doctors of Divinity or humble church member. In Ro 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.” Refusing His call, by this rebellion we are not of the called who were forseen to be saved. No man can enter here . It is between God and you who is searching your heart to know your intention.
There is a remnant according to the election of grace The descendents were not elect according to 11:17 Notice how in Chapter 11 Paul gives us his definition of election. To win an election you must vote to “Humble yourselves …under the mighty hand of God” in the words of Peter 5:6 He Speaks about how Elijah was in his position where he had to make intercession to God against Israel and in this, I and all who do so feel that they are alone, suffering reproach and repudiation from those who are under the prince of this world. God responded with the notice that in Israel God was preserving to Himself seven thousand who had not bowed their knees to the image of Baal. Then as now there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Not by outward works but they are preserved because they humbly ward a good conscience toward God not allowing anything to come between their soul and the Savior. Notice that this definition of grace is the abiding in harmony with the spirit of God while pleading our unworthiness, seaking his guidance and His strength in every trial. This is the attitude that brings us the grace that saves. Who are the elect? It was foreseen from eternity that men would respond to the voice of God and walk in his spirit. These were to be the elect. Where is the verse that teaches that all the saved were foreknown by name from all eternity? On the contrary there are so many admonitions in the scriptures: Heb 3:12 “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.” The theologians who are enemies of God declare that God chose from all eternity to save 7001 and that they were elected from the foundation of the world. Since theologians refuse to hear from the living God speaking and pricking their consciences they are in the exact position of the Jews in the days of Jesus and Paul. They are establishing their own righteousness and not responding to the righteousness of God.
26
Election of Grace This is a test for you to know if you will be in heaven or hell? Do you believe that God elected you from the foundation of the world to be saved and that as such you are eternally secure? This phrase comes from Rom. Ro 11:5 “Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then is it no more of works…” Do you believe that God chose 7,000 to be saved and chose all the rest of the millions in Israel to be followers of Baal? Do you believe that all this was decided by God as he made a legal decree before the foundation of the world? Do you realize this makes God responsible for all the works Satan? Do you realize that this makes you a legalist who does not believe in freely chosen communion with God which is the true definition of grace? Do you realize that the problem lies in your unscriptural definition of God as being the unmoved-mover of pagan Aristotle who can never think a new thought? His static and dead “god of destiny” was plural as he tried to decide which of the stars were first movers declaring there were 47 or 53 of them. That theology based on this concept could therefore be called Zodiac theology. The term theology was unknown in bible times. Imported from Aristotle’s classification of everything, and theology was a classification being under the classification of philosophy. It seems to imply putting God under a microscope. This is contrasted with the biblical concept of Bible times that God is examining us. Jer 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” I write you this test for the love of your soul, for you see that those who believe they are eternally secure because of an legal act before the foundation of the world are worshiping the pagan god of destiny and not the living God of Abraham. You are a legalist in the most profound sense. As Abraham raised the knife over Isaac and God stopped him saying “…now I know that thou fearest God…” God spoke about him learning in this moment the intention of Abraham and declared that he did not know it before. You have just taken another test if you do not believe this and have again proved that you do not believe in the only true and living God but in the pagan god of destiny. One of your basic sins is you do not literally believe the Bible but use the Bible as a metaphor. When questioned about this blasphemy you dodge the issue and appeal to the so called early church fathers to try to justify your plain opposition to the scriptures by saying that they denied this and the tradition of the ages must prevail over my sound reason and over the Spirit of God convincing me of the truth. This is how dogma is defined. Let God be true and every man a liar. We must realize that the true doctrine was ignored and despised and these so called early fathers were given prestige by prejudiced historians and the true men of
27
God were deliberately ignored and forgotten by those who were guided by the current of this world. Your intention to love the praise of men is seen by God and will leave with the rich man in hell who had no time for the insignificant Lazarus. You can call me insignificant but your denial of the living God’s own plain declaration that he is in time and responds to us as we respond to Him, leaves you breaking the first command just as surely as Pharaoh broke it and puts you in his company in the lake of fire forever. Nothing can be more serious. The election of Grace is that responding to God in repentance and total dependence asking God to help you, as in an act of your will you cry “not my will but thine be done”. We must abandon the evil doctrines of the impersonal god of our seminaries and the love of the prestige they have extended to us or lose our souls and be recriminated in hell for all eternity by our congregations for maintaining them in a false hope in which we continue in sin and we all fall into hell together. One can only leave off sin and walk in righteousness with the joy of the Lord in our heart. The doctrine of election in the Bible is not that men were elected from the foundation of the world but that from the foundation of the world it was foreseen that there would be those who responded to the personal call of God to them. The true doctrine of election is that those who elect to respond to God in repentance are the elect. The several texts that speak of blotting names out of the book of life makes the Reformed doctrine incompatible for those who respect and believe the Bible. The Reformed doctrine just refuses to look at the thrust of the whole Bible and declares that all things including sin and injustice are the responsibility of God. The whole Bible teaches that sin and injustice are the responsibility of man and God is Holy and Just. This doctrine is a great wickedness using the prestige of this world and the men who love this prestige as the ministers to proclaim those of us who believe the Bible are heretics. Moses in 32:31 “And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.” This one text makes the god of the pure metaphysical principal that knows all things from all eternity a different god than the Living God of Abraham who is interacting with everyone. It is a figment of the imagination made real to the believer in the evil anointing that comes from its father the Devil. For God to blot out a name from the book of life destroys the whole pagan concept used by reformed theology where God is understood to be the one ultimate metaphysical principal, for something changed from all eternity and this doctrine must be discarded. For we know that you must look both ways before crossing the street. We know that God convinces of sin and bless us if we repent and condemns us if we persist in our rebellion. We know that we
28
have the freedom to drop this writing at any point or continue reading. How then can we explain that we believe every act is predestined by God from the foundation of the world? We believe this irrationally because we are under the evil anointing called foolishness of the Greeks philosophy as spoken of by Paul in I Cor. 1 Hundreds of texts speak of contingency, that things can be one way or another because of the response of the person. Yet only one text that we have mentioned reveals that the wisdom of the Greeks is foolishness when they teach that their pure metaphysical principal of god knows all things from all eternity. Just look at Deut. 9:14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they. Ps 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. Re 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Re 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. In Heb. 4 We are exhorted to fear lest we be blotted out of the book of life as were the Israelites. Heb 4:1 “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” From the foundation of the world they were foreseen to have been saved for they were the children of the Abraham the one who believed, surely those who grew up as children of believers would be following generation in generation, but because of their sin they were blotted out. I am here preaching that message that you might fear and repent of this false god and this false doctrine. (We see God writing the tablets that were soon to be broken and something happening to his chosen people similar to the sin of Eve eating the forbidden fruit. We have Moses speaking in confidence to God offering himself in sacrifice, in propitiation to save his people by offering his eternal condemnation if God would not condemn them all. God replies that it is not for Moses to decide; that God blots men's names out of the Book of Life. This passage proves conclusively that the nine predestination points are not defining the God of Abraham. The idea that all men are predestined from all eternity to be saved and that God foresaw all who would be saved is not according to the Bible. Why did He write their names down if he later blotted them out? You have difficulty answering this because you want to define God according to the pagan philosophers instead of according to the Bible. You are worshiping another God. Other examples of being blotted out are: Judas Acts 1:20, from Psalms. 69:25-28, 109:6-13, also Rev. 3:5, 22:19. Can you doubt from this
29
text that "The soul that sinneth, it shall die."? Are you in danger of Hell fire because you believe in a pagan God? Will you not be cut off, just as the people were separated and killed. Will you not be in Hell with them if you do not repent?) Arthur Pink in his book on the Doctrine of Election defames God, as Reformed Theologians always do, teaching the following: “Accurately speaking, election is a branch of predestination, the latter being a more comprehensive term than the former. Predestination relates to all creatures, things, and events; but election is restricted to rational beings—angels and humans. As the word predestinate signifies, God from all eternity sovereignly ordained and immutably determined the history and destiny of each and all of His creatures. But in this study we shall confine ourselves to predestination as it relates to or concerns rational creatures. And here too a further distinction must be noticed. There cannot be an election without a rejection, a taking without a passing by, a choice without a refusal. As Psalm 78 expresses it, "He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; but chose the tribe of Judah" (vv. 67, 68). Thus predestination includes both reprobation (the preterition or passing by of the non-elect, and then the foreordaining of them to condemnation—Jude 4—because of their sins) and election unto eternal life, the former of which we shall not now discuss.” (Notice how they make God responsible for all the evil in the world.) “The doctrine of election means, then, that God singled out certain ones in His mind both from among angels (1 Tim. 5:21) and from among men, and ordained them unto eternal life and blessedness; that before He created them, He decided their destiny, just as a builder draws his plans and determines every part of the building before any of the materials are assembled for the carrying out of his design.” From this quote you see that the only one to be judged at the judgement is God himself according to the Reformed Doctrine for one can do nothing for his salvation, not even believe. The damning underlying principal in the Reformed doctrine of theologians like Arthur Pink is that they bring their definition of their words as the foundation of their doctrine and use all of the Bible to wrap around their philosophy. The terms elect and election are found only 27 times in the scriptures. In one sense the elect one is spoken of as the ones from all eternity that would elect to follow God, there is no mention of them being known by name. In the other sense it speaks about God calling all men and the ones who elect to respond to the Lordship of Jesus are known as the elect. It is not permited that anyone can come to the Word of God and make up their own definitions of what a word means, it must be determined by the context in the Bible. It could be said that God calls and one is walking in the selfishness of the whole world under the evil one. God has a vote, you have given Satan a vote and if you vote for self and Satan you elect by a majority to walk in darkness; if you vote for God you by a majority elect God and are known as the Elect of God. It is in this sense the terms are used in the Bible. These are the 27 references to elect in the Bible. Isa 42:1 45:4

65:9,22 Mt 24:22,24,31 Mr 13:20,22,27 Lu 18:7 Rom 8:33 9:11 11:5,7,28 Col 3:12 1Thes 1:4 1Tim 5:21 2Tim 2:10 Tit 1:1 1Pet 1:2 2:6 5:13 2Pet 1:10 2Jn 1:1,13. The call of God is to be holy. Holiness resides in the intention, Our intention must be all that I have, all that I am, all that I hope for is to have nothing between my soul and my Savior, not my will be done but thine be done, Lord help me without you I can do nothing. 16 “For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.” We notice that Paul did not believe in the doctrine of once saved always saved.
Why those who’s trust in being “Once saved, always saved” are not saved There is no doubt that one who has nothing between his soul and the Savior can never be lost. The one who in all things carefully turns to Jesus and finds consolation and guidance from him is one who has in his heart the confirmation, the consolation of Jesus in his heart that nothing can separate him from the love of God and being eternally with God. Ro 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is not the basis of the false doctrine of eternal security. Their theory begins with the falsehood that God only calls some not all. Continues with the falsehood that God makes only these believe even though they are passive or hostile to his voice. That all of the saved are forced to conform to the preset design made by God before the foundation of the world. That therefore all things are foreknown by God and it is said that God foreknew all the sins including those committed after conversion, but since all is by the power of God one is once saved and that forever and it was all settled before the foundation of the world.
31
Grace plus Nothing One of Satan’s favorite tools is adulation and this is used as is taught in this theory teaching how man can do nothing in regards to his salvation, it is all in God’s hands and if you are baptized and part of the congregation, you are made to feel important and among the fortunate and lucky ones, for you won the lottery before the foundation of the world. If you just hear their call to receive Jesus and are baptized you are eternally secure. They first are flattering God and after this they are flattering you. What is the purpose of this flattery? They are the fouls of the air that Jesus spoke of who picked up the seed in the parable of the sower. Many have been wonderfully saved and walk in the spirit but by their prestige and flattery little by little they are deadened in their spirit and begin to change their walk from that of the spirit to the walk based on an assurance that since they confess God with their mouth and believe in their heart that they are the elect and can never be lost. They more and more fall for this preaching flattering them that they are special as they are the heirs of God and that every thing is acceptable and forget all about God looking at their intentions. They are lost as they change from the humble unworthy servant walking by God’s guidance to the arrogant demanding of superiority that brings them to this hardness of heart, where they fall into many hurtful lusts and bad testimonies.
The Joy of the Lord is our strength They are trusting in a theory about God from the theologians but do not have the witness of the presence of God in their heart for they argue that everyone sins. Anyone who has the witness of God in his heart would never occur to him to be trusting in some religious theory. The Joy of The Lord is our strength. Those who have this “witness” as Paul says: Ro 8:16 “The Spirit itself beareth “witness” with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” they are in fellowship with the Lord and have nothing between their soul and the Savior, cannot tolerate sin in their life, for instead of joy they receive the warning frown of the Holy Spirit that takes away the joy and the assurance of salvation. The book of Romans is used to justify this false hope of living in sin and proclaiming that they are saved. They ignore Romans 6 which says that God forbid that we should any longer live in sin but use Romans 7 which they presume, seems to confirm their condition, Ro 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see
32
another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! They have ignored and contradict the testimony of Paul as he explains how that God called him from infancy when he says in Rom. 7:9 “For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.” Paul declares that he was alive without the law as is everyone born until he sins. They teach that all are totally depraved and that only when God supernaturally works then one can hear and only then and that he is forced by God to respond as God overrides the freewill of those whom he calls. This idea is part of the fairy tale of reformed theology. All of this is implied in the phrase “Grace plus nothing”. With this concept that only certain ones receive the voice of God in their consciences they attack God as being unfair or unjust. They are accusing God as being responsible for all who are lost as they declare grace plus nothing. If you do not have to respond to Gods call you are not responsible it is all God’s responsibility, you can do nothing they say. The Grace plus nothing doctrine teaches you can do nothing and all is left with God, your condition of being lost is solely God’s fault. They are true to their paganistic doctrine of fatalism. They teach that you must just be resigned to your final destiny.
Paul calls us to fear for we could be damned In 11:19 “Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear…” If anyone is sinning he knows this because the Holy Spirit is convincing his own heart. To procrastinate and continue in this sin we are in rebellion against God. Paul says that we should not be highminded but fear. Is not this the state of the once saved always saved messengers? They are high minded saying we know God has all things fixed from all eternity and everyone lives tolerating sin in their lives like this. If anyone testifies to the personal assurance in their heart of a “Know So Salvation” they are judged to be liars and hypocrites. Immediately appealing to I Jn 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” Even though this verse was given by John to sort out those who professed but had never dealt with sin in their lives that they were lying against the Eternal Spirit of God convincing them of sin. The teaching of the philosophers in John’s day as now is that there is no sin. (Read Plato, who in a paradox of this ignorance theme which he presents in Hippias Menor, he tries to demonstrate that only a good man can knowingly sin, knowing what good is and knowing what bad is and deliberately choosing the bad. But who knows what good consists in? This kind of absurd conclusion suggests that it is impossible to sin voluntarily and that the only one who sins is one who doesn’t know what good is. That is to say only the ignorant sin but involuntarily. ‘Since sin is a voluntary act it this is only a distinction to befuddle, bewilder, muddle or unhinge the mind.’ This dialog
33
carries the opposite to its extreme and by doing so is an indirect confirmation of the hypothesis of Socrates that Virtue is Knowledge.) Philosophers as those of the reformed theology are, apply or take this verse out of the context of all of First John and all the Bible which declares that 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” And again in I Jo 5:18 “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” Since these who are confiding in a theory for their salvation cannot see the kingdom of heaven, they can never make the distinction between temptation and sin as is done in James Jas 1:12 “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” They in general see temptation as sin and it is true that all men would be liars who deny that they are tempted. But if one walks in the spirit but goes through the step of being drawn away from the Spirit of God, returns as he feels this in the Spirit, or perhaps the temptation is so strong to him that he begins to lust and in the battle he is still strengthened as one resists the lust and even in the moment of conception of sin God will deliver if his confidence is in God for he will not permit more than we can bear. Paul in his ministry to the Romans carefully warns them over and over again that they can fall into unbelief and lose their souls. These things are not understood by these who have never repented, but who habitually live in sin every day. What is the sin you must commit? Your family deserves to know, your congregation should know. Perhaps temptation and sin are deliberately confused. An illustration would be that it is natural that one person is more attractive that another but to imagine how it would be to have sex with that person is sin, for Jesus said to look and lust is to have already committed adultery. What is lost to the unconverted is the joy of true reconciliation with God that by this spirit of joy we overcome the world as Paul speaks of in Rom 5:11 “And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” And in Rom. 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Things have come the full circle as prophesied by Paul in 11:15 “For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but

life from the dead? For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.” The Jews said, “We are elect for we are the children of Abraham” and were demanding that God was exclusive to them and all others were condemned. Today the apostate reformed church declares all who believe our doctrine are elect and we are the exclusive way and in the same way are demanding God that they must be saved and in their unbelief are establishing their own righteousness ignoring the righteousness of God. Satan has manipulated the pure simple gospel message to bring all these sinners to proclaim they are the true church and they are the only orthodox for centuries, persecuting the true Christians and calling them heretics. For this clergy, the true Christians, who simply believe that God appeared to Abraham, are the duller folk who cannot understand the true nature of God, whom they define as the one ultimate metaphysical principal. They can be identified by asking them if they believe literally what God said as Abraham raised his knife to slay Isaac. “Now I Know” God declared. They are worshiping another god when they believe or declare God knew from all eternity.
Calvin killed 58 Heretics? in 4 years In the reformation as soon as the reformers took over the land they taught the same philosophical principal as god that they received in their seminary training and acted in the same evil way as the Catholic prelates they replaced. Calvin practiced the inqusition executing 58 people who he claimed were heretics in 4 years. Some of which were Servetus, Gentile, Gruet, Comparet, Comparet (brothers), Berthelier. The false religious leaders have the most sinister hearts, using the texts of the Bible to illustrate their philosophy to exhort you for their own prestige of which the tithing is a very good example. Paul writes to the Romans to warn them that they must continue to believe or they will be lost, explaining that they must not be of the demanding attitude of the Jews for salvation but of humble total reliance on the presence and guidance of Jesus step by step for all eternity. Text of warning:

Is there unrighteousness with God? “What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?” The theory of salvation of the apostate Jews of Paul’s and of the reformed doctrine of “once saved always saved” or “grace plus nothing” accuses’ God of being unrighteous or not Holy. They say that this text teaches God chose not only Pharaoh but all men who will be lost to be lost. We must recognize we are not thinking clearly but are in a satanic mental fog or we instantly could understand this implication. At their insistence as they are helped by the god of this world we have all understood that all things are known by God from all eternity. This is not Biblical. It denies every “whosoever” in the whole Bible. It denies every response of the Living God to answer a prayer. It accuses God of all of the wickedness in the world. A wickedness that became so great that God with all his greatness exclaims, “They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:” Jer 19:5 God says that in the creation of Adam’s race it never occurred to Him that this race would come under a rebellion so great that they would burn their own children in offerings to Satan. For there is only one true God! All other gods are only figments of imagination constructed in conjunction with Satan that he might subtly receive the worship unto himself. This is only one of the many declarations of God in the Bible that makes this doctrine antibiblical. Only the faith of Abraham is the faith of Jesus and all the redeemed. God said to Abraham when he raised his knife over Isaac to sacrifice him, “Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.” God declared himself present and declared himself interacting with Abraham in time. God declared he did not know for sure until
36
this moment in time Abraham’s intention. To not accept this is to call God a liar just as Satan did when he told Eve thou shalt not surely die. If you or I deny this, we are not of the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but become ignorant puppets of Satan supposing to treat God as a passive distant figure. This attitude is the attitude of the Jews who boast of knowing God but Paul says they are willfully ignorant of living and moving in his presence. They boast to be God’s chosen but by ignoring his searching of their own intentions they are seen by God as being stiffnecked, rebels. Hear God speak about his perspective in Isaiah 6:8 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.” Are not the theologians and pastors in our day in this condition as they deny the ‘now I know’ of God speaking? Boasting of being experts on the things of God, but their God is the un moved-mover Aristotle god of destiny, while resisting sinning in their heart constantly resisting the Almighty true and living God of Abraham. Obstructers of the work of God in their own hearts and in the hearts of others. Enemigos of the cross and enemigos of God. This is our test. Are we based on the Bible? Do we believe that God literally spoke to Abraham? Do we believe that in that moment God came to know all the intent of Abraham’s heart? That he could not have known it before, because Abraham had not came to this intention with his whole heart until this moment? It is the Living God who is searches the heart, tries the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings as spoken in Jer 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” If we refuse to believe the word of the Bible it is because in our heart we are not walking in obedience. In this the Bible speaks of us as having a heart of stone. We are not sensitive to the Holy Spirit convincing us of sin, and righteousness and judgment. This is Jesus the chief cornerstone who is speaking and who we are rejecting. In this our heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. The hardness consists in not realizing that we are the clay on God’s wheel and we are refusing to be molded. We do not realize that instead of being molded by God we are resisting his word in our heart while outwardly we appear to accept his word, we are in rebellion insisting that God must fulfill his promise. We use the Bible as a rule book with which we are telling God what he must do. This is the apostate condition of the Jews and the Grace plus nothing persuasion. We are demanding our rights under the law of the Bible! This is an aggressive, belligerent, cantankerous attitude. As the Jews say they are children of Abraham so we declare we are born again and Jesus paid for all
37
our sins and we are demanding that God give us what he promised. This is hard hearted rebellion against Jesus and shows our heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Those who follow this use Dan 11:32 “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” They follow Satan’s command: Turn this stone into bread. To do exploits they are telling God you must fulfill your promise, take me to heaven, no matter what, for you promised eternal life. You heal this person if you are God and keep your word. You promised and I give all my money to this preacher and if you are the living God you will multiply it many fold. All of the promises are used to challenge God with. The hard hearted man or woman who does this has a heart that is deceitful, and desperately wicked. See the true faith in the words of the true child of God. When the tempter came to Jesus, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Notice how Jesus refused this attitude of demanding God. As he waited on God the angels came and fed him. See the faith of saints in the fiery furnace: “…We are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods…” The did not demand to be saved from death but left the matter in the hands of God. Perhaps the ruination of Judas was in him trying to force Jesus to save himself and rule the world, the money being only secondary. The great theme of Paul in his message to the gentiles and the conflict that this brought about with the Jews is the manner in which one applies the promises of God. The Jews understood that they were privileged and were trying to force God to do their will. This is what Paul called legalism. Paul deals with the fact that they fell into this condition because they fell into unbelief. This unbelief as we have seen is in how they hardened their hearts to the voice of God in their conscience and begin instead of serving him begin to demand their rights using the law or Bible as the basis for their claims. Paul forsees that it was possible even inevitable that gentile believers would fall into this same unbelief when he says, “Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.” Paul did not teach the security of the believer, or once saved always saved. How hard is the heart of these who have been blinded into the doctrine of the false god of fatalism. If we ask them how they know they are saved, they tell us their theory of predestination citing Romans and tell us their confidence is in the promises in these
38
verses. This is totally contrary to the context of where Paul is warning that all stand by faith and by their unbelief they will be cut off. It is not a matter of God failing us, this will never happen, it is a matter of men taking their life out of God’s hands and returning to a life of living for themselves and insisting that God must fulfill the promises that they may consume their own lusts. All who believe they are saved and are in disobedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit in their hearts are spoken of by Jesus. “For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.” Mt 13:15 They have gone off whoring after this another god of the pagan Greeks. Paul says God will deal with those who fall with severity as they will find themselves in hell with the unbelieving Jews. This brings up the accusation that to believe in God’s interaction in our lives step by step as we are on his potters wheel leaves out the precision of prophecy taught in the Bible. Which is wrongly presented as a precision of counting years to understand coming events. This concept does not fit the Bible pattern. When Jesus was asked when shall these things be? He replied, As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be. Only my Father in heaven knows the day. When this moment arrives it will be because there is no more fruit for the eternal kingdom, then the judgments of the great tribulation will begin with the sufferings no man has seen before. It will begin by marking every saint by the angel in Rev. 9 during which there will be no wind on the whole earth and finish with Christ’s return at the last Trumpet. The matter of prophecy was spoken of as, “The burden of the word of the LORD” Zec 9:1. Prophecy has been given as men have sought and walked with a pure motive of heart to seek God in all things. This relationship is what is being offered to everyone on earth by him in whom we move and have our being. It is in this seeking to live in the perfect will of God that we are participating in the desires and purpose of God. Only those who walk in this are part of the kingdom of God of which is spoken of in II Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Only God is divine but we participate in his nature and as we seek his will without any selfishness, but just for the glory of God, we are tuned into the burdens of the Spirit of God. Out of this has grown the prophecies. Notice how Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 ¶ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
39
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 ¶ Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 ¶ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Made subject to vanity God has given everyone a vivid imagination. The use of this imagination is called vanity. We are face to face with the dilemma of the person who has been converted and walks in the spirit who is confronted with the established prestige of the whole religious system with all of the absorbing tendencies of the glory of men and the world, based on the false god of destiny. Come out of her my people is the call of the Spirit. The choice to try to compromise and walk with out feet in the two camps leaves us as enemies of Christ.
40
The god of the religious systems that teaches as it’s root that all things are by divine decree is a doctrine of demons. It is designed to center your imagination in the things of this world. Only by the eternal spirit of God in our lives can we determine the difference in what God can do and what money can do. These metaphysical concepts are the fouls of the air that have come to take the seed of the word in our heart and conscience, your living communion with the living God out of your heart and leave you twice dead. We all must come to grippes with the concept taught that all things are known by God from all eternity. This placing of an iron grid over all history and taking God out of time denies all the contingency of the scriptures and turns worship from the living God of Abraham to the worship of the prestigious Prince of the Powers of the Air by accusing God of all the evil in the world. We deny the faith of Abraham in which God who is in time declared “Now I Know” when Abraham finally came to that intention. God strives with many that could but never do. On the one hand we lived with nothing between our soul and Jesus our Savior with his guiding reassurance as testimony of our salvation. On the other hand we take up another kind of evil faith in which are demanding of God that he fulfill the letter of the promises. We will demand to be allowed into heaven because the promise says that if we confess with our mouth and believe with our heart, we will be saved, and God must allow us into heaven. We have by this false faith become belligerent accusers of God. Abandoning the walk in the spirit we are in the downward spiral to total degradation and damnation as pictured in the first chapter of Romans. In I Cor 10 Paul tells how the Israelites partook of the presence of Jesus who was present with them and how we must not forget their fatal example of how they lusted after evil things and fell into fornication and then idolatry. “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?”
How we partake of the table of devils and lose our souls. In my book, “The Poison Root” it is explained how men from the times of the Tower of Babel made two great sacrifices to the gods each year. In three week ceremonies day and night they asked, before they planted, for a blessing on their crop, and then again upon the harvest they made another sacrifice of thanksgiving. A secret priesthood took poison mushrooms, in which some died while in the hallucinations produced, they spoke with the gods they said. This occult wisdom became known as metaphysics. These gods they communed with were fallen angels or demons. This practice continues until today. The pagan Greek philosophers developed this occult evil doctrine of devils to espouse Aristotle’s unmoved-mover definition of the god outside of
41
time. Maximum prestige is fomented by Satan the god of this world to reward all who practice this rebellion against God and is manifested in the clergy system that proclaims all who believe in the true and living God to be heretics. In this way you are part of Satan’s system and are drinking of the cup of devils when you proclaim that God knows all thing past present and future. This is a terrible sin of breaking the first commandment, of having another god before the Almighty I AM. By this you ignore the divine urging of the living God speaking to your heart, pleading with your conscience interacting with all who come to repentance. By so believing that all things are foreknown, you are inferring that God chose all things to come to pass and all events are predestined in an unmovable grid that is more static and harder than any rock. This belief in destiny is the root of all dumb idols. Since by this theory all events are foreknown and as God chose the creation he chose every sin as well and is thus responsible for all the evil in the world. You are one with your father Satan as an accuser of God. For this reason you can know if you have true faith if you believe God when he said “Now I know” to Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac. When God declared this he settled this false argument once and forever about God being outside of time and knowing all things from all eternity. I must be guided by his declaration. To deny his plain declaration is to deny the Christian faith based on Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, choosing to be in Satan’s camp of slippery philosophers who render God’s word powerless in the Bible by changing it into metaphors. In this sense sin is an insanity that ignores God who is speaking in a living way in one’s conscience and ignores the freedom of will to stop and return to what you are doing at any time. It is a denial of reality. It is a denial of personal responsibility by withdrawing from reality. Ignoring the reality of death and how we can pass into eternity at anytime and hardening our hearts to our conscience. It makes us a vessel being fitted for wrath on God’s potter’s wheel.
God’s infinite keeping power 1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Ro 8:33- “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things
42
to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Is it not the obligation of every Christian to contend for the gospel once delivered to the saints? Does not the Holy Spirit speak to us personally in our inner man that we will lose our fellowship and our souls as well if we allow anything to come between our soul and Jesus our Savior? If our conscience is not clear how can we look on His face at the moment of our death? He who is working for the institution and is thus working against the moving of the eternal spirit in the lives of all men is in his intention satanic. It’s the same spisrit that worked in Lucifer to make the rebellion in heaven. The same spirit that is in the Roman Catholic that makes the institution the supreme point of contention in their relationship. It may be hidden and a little seed in the heart but it is a seed of sedition against the kingdom of God and has resulted in millions of Bible believers losing their souls in hell forever because their believing a theory about salvation but have denied the power of the gospel to guide them fin all things in the kingdom of the living God. Sadly, organized religion is a system of false council teaching you to believe in a theory of God avoiding the true Christianity of personally responding to God speaking to us in our conscience and living by repentance and the joy of true reconciliation. (Note the “if” shows he did not know before?) Ex 13:17 ¶ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: (Shows he did not know before?) 18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. (Shows he did not know before?) 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: 29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, (Shows he did not know before?) (Shows he did not know before?) 12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel. Nu 33:55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. 56 Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them. (Shows he did not know before?) Jos 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. (Shows he did not know before?) Jos 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. Jg 2:2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. (Shows he did not know before?) 13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.u 14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. 15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed. 16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them. 17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. (Shows he did not know before?)
44 18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. 20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; (Shows he did not know before?) 21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: (Shows he did not know before?) 22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not. (Shows he did not know before?) 23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua. (Shows he did not know before?) Jg 3:4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses. Jueces 10:13 Mas vosotros me habéis dejado, y habéis servido á dioses ajenos: por tanto, yo no os libraré más. (Shows he did not know before?) Jg 10:14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation. 15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day. 16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel. (Shows he did not know before?) Jg 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. 6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name: 7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death. 8 ¶ Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born. 9 And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her Jg 13:24 ¶ And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. 25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol. Jg 16:7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. 8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them. 9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known. 10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound. 11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. 12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread. 13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web. 14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web. 15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth. 16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; 17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. 18 ¶ And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. 19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. 20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. 21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house. Jg 16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. 30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. 6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake. . Texts where God declared something was to come to pass and later changed in his interaction with men Nu 14:11 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? 12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. 13 And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) 14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. 15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, 16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness. 17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, 18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. 19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. 20 ¶ And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: Nu 16:21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. 22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? 23 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. 25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him. 26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins. 27 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
48 28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. 29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me. 30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD. 31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: 32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. 33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. 34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. 35 ¶ And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense. Nu 16:41 ¶ But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD. 42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared. 43 And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation. 44 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces. 46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun. 47 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed. 49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah. 50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed. the atonement was not a commercial transaction. Some have regarded the atonement simply in the light of the payment of a debt; and have represented Christ as purchasing the elect of the Father, and paying down the same amount of suffering in His own person that justice would have exacted of them. To this I answer: Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (1.) It is naturally impossible, as it would require that satisfaction should be made to retributive justice. Strictly speaking, retributive justice can never be satisfied, in the sense that the guilty can be punished as much and as long as he deserves; for this would imply that he was punished until he ceased to be guilty, or became innocent. When law is once violated, the sinner can make no satisfaction. He can never cease to be guilty, or to
49 deserve punishment, and no possible amount of suffering renders him the less guilty or the less deserving of punishment: therefore, to satisfy retributive justice is impossible. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (2.) But, as we have seen in a former lecture, retributive justice must have inflicted on Him eternal death. To suppose, therefore, that Christ suffered in amount, all that was due to the elect, is to suppose that He suffered an eternal punishment multiplied by the whole number of the elect. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology 3. The atonement of Christ was intended as a satisfaction of public justice. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology The moral law did not originate in the divine will, but is founded in His self-existence and immutable nature. He cannot therefore repeal or alter it. To the letter of the moral law there may be exceptions. God cannot repeal the precept, and just for this reason, He cannot set aside the spirit of the sanctions. For to dispense with the sanctions were a virtual repeal of the precept. He cannot, therefore, set aside the execution of the penalty when the precept has been violated, without something being done that shall meet the demands of the true spirit of the law. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology "Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus" (Romans 3:24-26). Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology This passage assigns the reason, or declares the design, of the atonement, to have been to justify God in the pardon of sin, or in dispensing with the execution of law. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when Thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall My righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors: and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors" (Isaiah 53:10-12). Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology I present several further reasons why an atonement in the case of the inhabitants of this world was preferable to punishment, or to the execution of the divine law. Several reasons have already been assigned, to which I will add the following, some of which are plainly revealed in the Bible; others are plainly inferrible from what the Bible does reveal; and others still are plainly inferrible from the very nature of the case. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (1.) God's great and disinterested love to sinners themselves was a prime reason for the atonement. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (2.) His great love to the universe at large must have been another reason, inasmuch as it is impossible that the atonement should not exert an amazing influence over moral beings, in whatever world they might exist, and where the fact of atonement should be known. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (3.) Another reason for substituting the sufferings of Christ in the place of the eternal damnation of sinners, is, that an infinite amount of suffering might be prevented. The relation of Christ to the universe rendered His sufferings so infinitely valuable and influential, as an expression of God's abhorrence of sin on the one hand, and His great love to His subjects on the other, that an infinitely less amount of suffering in Him than must have been inflicted on sinners, would be equally, and no doubt vastly more, influential in supporting the government of God, than the execution of the law upon them would have been. Be it borne in mind, that Christ was the lawgiver, and His suffering in behalf of sinners is to be regarded as the lawgiver and executive magistrate suffering in the behalf and stead of a rebellious province of his empire. As a governmental expedient it is easy to see the great value of such a substitute; that on the one hand it fully evinced the determination of the ruler not to yield the authority of His law, and on the other, to evince His great and disinterested love for His
50 rebellious subjects. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (4.) By this substitution, an immense good might be gained, the eternal happiness of all that can be reclaimed from sin, together with all the augmented happiness of those who have never sinned, that must result from this glorious revelation of God. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (5.) Another reason for preferring the atonement to the punishment of sinners must have been, that sin had afforded an opportunity for the highest manifestation of virtue in God: the manifestation of forbearance, mercy, self-denial, and suffering for enemies that were within His own power, and for those from whom He could expect no equivalent in return. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology It is impossible to conceive of a higher order of virtues than are exhibited in the atonement of Christ. It was vastly desirable that God should take advantage of such an opportunity to exhibit His true character, and show to the universe what was in His heart. The strength and stability of any government must depend upon the estimation in which the sovereign is held by his subjects. It was therefore indispensable, that God should improve the opportunity, which sin had afforded, to manifest and make known His true character, and thus secure the highest confidence of His subjects. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (6.) In the atonement God consulted His own happiness and His own glory. To deny Himself for the salvation of sinners, was a part of His own infinite happiness, always intended by Him, and therefore always enjoyed. This was not selfishness in Him, as His own well-being is of infinitely greater value than that of all the universe besides; He ought so to regard and treat it, because of its supreme and intrinsic value. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (7.) The atonement would present to creatures the highest possible motives to virtue. Example is the highest moral influence that can be exerted. If God, or any other being, would make others benevolent, He must manifest benevolence Himself. If the benevolence manifested in the atonement does not subdue the selfishness of sinners, their case is hopeless. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (8.) The circumstances of His government rendered an atonement necessary; as the execution of law was not, as a matter of fact, a sufficient preventive of sin. The annihilation of the wicked would not answer the purposes of government. A full revelation of mercy, blended with such an exhibition of justice, was called for by the circumstances of the universe. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (9.) To confirm holy beings. Nothing could be more highly calculated to establish and confirm the confidence, love, and obedience of holy beings, than this disinterested manifestation of love to sinners and rebels. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (10.) To confound His enemies. How could anything be more directly calculated to silence all cavils, and to shut every mouth, and forever close up all opposing lips, than such an exhibition of love and willingness to make sacrifices for sinners? Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (11.) The fact, that the execution of the law of God on rebel angels had not arrested, and could not arrest, the progress of rebellion in the universe, proves that something more needed to be done, in support of the authority of law, than would be done in the execution of its penalty upon rebels. While the execution of law may have a strong tendency to prevent the beginning of rebellion among loyal subjects, and to restrain rebels themselves; yet penal inflictions do not, in fact, subdue the heart, under any government, whether human or divine. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology As a matter of fact, the law was only exasperating rebels, without confirming holy beings. Paul affirmed, that the action of the law upon his own mind, while in impenitence, was to beget in him all manner of concupiscence. One grand reason for giving the law was, to develop the nature of sin, and to show that the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. The law was therefore given that the offence might abound, that thereby it might be demonstrated, that without an atonement there could be no salvation for rebels under the government of God. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology (12.) The nature, degree, and execution of the penalty of the law, made the holiness and the justice of
51 God so prominent, as to absorb too much of public attention to be safe. Those features of His character were so fully revealed, by the execution of His law upon the rebel angels, that to have pursued the same course with the inhabitants of this world, without the offer of mercy, might have had, and doubtless would have had, an injurious influence upon the universe, by creating more of fear than of love to God and His government. Hence, a fuller revelation of the love and compassion of God was necessary, to guard against the influence of slavish fear. Charles G. Finney, Systematic Theology His taking human nature, and obeying unto death, under such circumstances, constituted a good reason for our being treated as righteous. It is a common practice in human governments, and one that is founded in the nature and laws of mind, to reward distinguished public service by conferring favors on the children of those who have rendered this service, and treating them as if they had rendered it themselves. This is both benevolent and wise. Its governmental importance, its wisdom and excellent influence, have been most abundantly attested in the experience of nations. As a governmental transaction, this same principle prevails, and for the same reason, under the government of God. All that are Christ's children and belong to Him, are received for His sake, treated with favor, and the rewards of the righteous are bestowed upon them for His sake. And the public service which He has rendered to the universe, by laying down His life for the support of the divine government, has rendered it eminently wise, that all who are united to Him by faith should be treated as righteous for His sake. Romans chapter 11 1 ¶ I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
52 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? 16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. 33 ¶ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans chapter 12

1 ¶ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: Ro 9:1 ¶ I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. 6 ¶ Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. 10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14 ¶ What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
54 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25 ¶ As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. 27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. 30 ¶ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Romans chapter 10 1 ¶ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
55 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. 19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. 20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
