The members of the European Council of Lay Dominican Fraternities (ECLDF) are very sad to hear of the premature death of Fr. Elie-Pascal Epinoux OP in the night of Saturday to Sunday 13 September 2009 in Toulouse. Not so long ago, on 17 May 2008, he acted as a guide for us through the Latin Quarter in Paris on the steps of our father St Dominic. He never tired of speaking about the history of the origins of the Order, in Fanjeaux, Prouilhe, Paris or Caleruega, where he was due to take us this week on a pilgrimage. Many of us knew him and appreciated his passion for the history of Dominican sources. Walking past the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, he showed us the place, close to the south gate of the cathedral, where the first friars were said to have found lodgings and St Dominic to have joined them. May our brother Elie-Pascal rest in peace in the love and light of God. Our sincerest condolences to the family of Fr. Elie-Pascal and his community of the St Thomas Aquinas Convent in Toulouse. His death is a huge loss for the whole Dominican Family. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday 16 September at noon at the Toulouse convent, followed by burial in the parish graveyard of Fanjeaux. The ECLDF Anja, Anne-Marie, Bénédicte, Gabriel and Jean- Michel. 14.09.09
