THE TESTING OF YOUR FAITH RIGHT BELIEFES ABOUT THE TEST OF FAITH SESSION 4 “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.” Numbers 14:24 INTRODUCTION Most of the time we fail the test of faith because we don’t know what the Bible teaches. RIGHT BELIEFS ABOUT GOD 1. God always teaches you before testing you.  

Everything that preceded the test of faith is an overwhelming teaching by God that you can trust God for everything. We can trust God because His history is flawless.

Exodus 14:30-31- “So the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the LORD had done in Egypt; so the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD and His servant Moses.”  

We believe the past about God’s trustworthy character. It is not the amount of faith we have in God- it is how much we believe that God is faithful that enables us to believe.

The Covenant God made with His people 

Between the test in Exodus and the tests in Numbers God made a covenant with Israel.

Exodus 19:4-6 – “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I bore you on eagle’s wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” 2. God always takes our response personally.

If we complain we do it against God and not against the people around us. God takes it personally.

Exodus 17: 2, 7 – “Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the LORD?” …. So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?” 

Read Psalm 78:17-22,32-33,40-43

3. God always chastens those who will rebel against Him in a test. God will always bless those who believe in Him in the test.  

What happens when you rebel against God? Read Numbers 14:22-23- “…certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers.”

Numbers 14:27-29 – “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who murmur against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel murmur against Me. Say to them, As I live, ‘says the LORD, just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you. : “The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness…’” 

What happens when you believe in God?

Numbers 14:24 – “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.”
