Objectives: a. discuss the types of intentional injuries; b. dramatize a scenario on how to prevent and control intentional injuries; and c. value the importance of one’s life. B. Presentation What do you mean by intentional injuries? Intentional injuries are injuries resulting from violence. The term “intentional” is used to refer to injuries resulting from a purposeful human action, whether directed at oneself or others. Intentional injuries are mostly interpersonal acts of violence intend to cause harm. Common types of intentional injuries are suicide and parasuicide, domestic violence, bullying, stalking and extortion and gang and illegal fraternity related violence. This time, we will have a group activity. Since you already have a group in this subject, group 1 will stay at the right side. Group 2 will stay at the center. Group 3 will stay at the back of the group 1. Group 4 will stay at the left side and group 5 will stay at the back of the group 4. Each group will select a leader and a secretary and form a small circle so that everybody will participate. Write those members who will not participate in your group because I will be deducted their points. I have here a cartolina and pentil pen and write your answers in the cartolina. You only have 5 minutes to answer and 3 minutes to discuss/report your topic in front of your classmates.

In your group you are going to discuss the assigned topic given and answer the following guide questions. Topic/s per group: Group 1- Suicide and Parasuicide Group 2- Domestic Violence Group 3- Bullying Group 4- Stalking and Extortion Group 5- Gang and Illegal Fraternity-Related Violence The group who will finish answering first will be given 10 points and make some clippings that a sign that your group are ready to discuss/report the assign topic. It is when someone repeatedly contacts you, follows you, send you things and talk to you, even when you don’t want them to. Reason of young people join gangs and groups: *sense of belongingness *desire for adventure *feel protected and looked out for it if they are members of a gang. Fraternity – is a group of people with similar backgrounds, occupations, interests or tastes. Youth may think of several benefits in joining a fraternity: *gain in power and protection *guidance and assistance *for academic support *sense of belongingness To maintain their exclusiveness, fraternity members would require an applicant to undergo a series of initiation rites to become part of the “brotherhood”.
