N.V.MANI is an Electrical engineer and postgraduate in Business Administration, with over 40 years of industrial experience in Petroleum, Petrochemical and fertilizer units. He has membership in professional societies IEEE /SPE/ IEI/ KMA and has presented over 100 technical papers.
Presently he serves as faculty in various training programmes in Oil Industry - Refineries and Petrochemical plants, in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), Power / Electrical engineering. Mr. Mani retired in Oct.2004 from ‘Kochi Refineries Limited’ after serving 23 years in this company. He held positions as DGM (Technical Services) and DGM (Project) responsible to provide engineering support to Operation and Maintenance, to coordinate timely construction and commissioning of refinery expansion / revamp projects and to implement HSE (Health, Safety &Environment) schemes. He was core group member for ISO-9000 implementation. He served Oil Industry Safety Directorate, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for 7 years, as its Additional Director (Engineering), [on deputation from Kochi Refineries]. Assignment with OISD covered safety promotional activities of Oil & Gas installations, evolving engineering standards on safe design, operation, inspection and maintenance, safety audits, accident investigations, developing databases on safety records etc. 1
During tenure with Engineers India Limited for over 12 years, he held senior positions in Design and Construction of electrical projects at Refineries, Petrochemicals, and Fertilizer plants. Assignment included successful completion of 3 years’ EIL’s deputation assignment, as ‘Senior Specialist (Electrical)’ at Khor Al-zubair Fertiser project, Basra, Ministry of Industries and Minerals, Govt.of Iraq. Mr. Mani was with General Electric Co. for 3 years, in the field of industrial electrification projects.
