As part of HIPAA integration, wellness plan decided to replace their existing EDI tool to Edi (Data Interchange) with Mercator 6.7 to develop maps, for claims processing. Their aim is to develop Maps on NT, and run them on OS/390 and UNIX systems, as their applications are on Mainframe and UNIX. Responsibilities:

     

Generated Type Trees from COBOL copybooks for the transaction 835 input. Developed Mercator 6.7 interfaces for 835 Payment/Remittance Advice. Developed Mercator Maps for 820 Payment Receipt. Developed 837 Mercator interfaces according to business requirement. Developed Type Trees for the 837 Transaction from COBOL copybooks. Some of the maps are built for OS/390 platform, and deployed on Mainframe as per the Design.

Client: AETNA HealthCare – Connecticut Company: Mifi Systems, Inc Role: Mercator consultant Responsibilities: Oct 2004 to May2005 Aetna is one of the largest Healthcare Payor providing extensive Healthcare Benefits to Members from the providers across the Globe. The purpose of the Implementation is to re-engineer the process of HIPAA Compliance Program for the Business Strategy. Mercator is used for the Integration implementation. All the Interfaces are developed in Mercator. Responsibilities:         

Worked on the Analysis of the mapping specifications provided by the business team Developed and maintained EDI maps to accept and send Health Care Data for 834, 837, 276, 277 transactions. Developed code to include all the validations and processing rules as per the requirements document. Worked on Database interface designer. Implemented Mercator Resource Registry for all the maps. Developed Mercator System Definition and using Mercator. Integration flow designer and deployed the maps to UNIX. Worked on unit testing in the windows environment based on various test cases. Developed maps to receive data from a materials management system or web site to facilitate medical supplies ordering.
