Restored by Grace (Ezek. 36:22-32) Have you been convicted of a specific area of sin in your life, sin that you have you tried for some time to “fix” yourself, but that you have repeatedly failed to overcome? If so, perhaps it comes down to this, you can’t fix it! (Jer. 17:9, Rom. 7:14-25) So what’s the solution? God’s saving grace. We are Saved by Grace (Eph. 2:4-5, Titus 3:4-7) Not for our own sake, but for the sake of His Holy name, as a witness to the nations (Ezek. 36:22-23 & 30, Ps. 106:8) Restores/Renew us by (Ezek. 36:24-27, Ps. 51:10-12): Gathering us out from among the nations (Ezek. 20:41, 1 Pe. 2:9) Returning us to where He intended us to be Cleansing us (Ps. 51:2, Jer. 33:8, John 3:5, Heb. 10:22, 1 Cor. 6:11, Titus 2:14) Giving us a new heart and spirit His Spirit to direct us to follow Him = a desire to serve God Which is the key to life and peace (Rom. 8:6) Making us His people, Making Him, Our God (Ezek. 26:30, Jer. 30:22, 31:33, 32:38, Rev. 21:3) (Literally dwelling with or in us) Yet we should still be ashamed of our own misconduct (Ezek. 20:43, 36:31-32, Luke 18:13) C.S. Lewis said, “ When a man is getting better, he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse, he understands his own badness less and less.”
