A Brief Catalyst study on direct methane conversion using a dielectric barrier discharge Manuscript id: KO-950302 Author response of the reviewer’s comments Question: Characterization of the catalyst should be included Answer: Thank you for the suggestion from reviewer. In the revised manuscript, we added the characterization data of the catalyst. In this experiment, we used XRD and EDS to analyze the catalyst. Question: Many kinds of Al2O3 and zeolite are available. The type of alumunium oxide (Al 2O3) and zeolite should be mentioned. Answer: Thank you for a good and nice suggestion from reviewer. In this experiment, we used Al2O3 and zeolite (ZSM 5x) type purchased from Junsei Chemical, Japan. After catalyst treatment, we found that our Al2O3 was closed to γ-Al2O3 while in the case of ZSM 5x, the XRD spectra was not change much before and after calcinations. We added this information in our revised manuscript and we used complete writing form of γ-Al2O3 and ZSM 5x in the revised manuscript. Question: More references should be cited Answer: Thank you for the suggestion to add more literatures review. The added literature and some papers published by Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society have been added in the revised manuscript. We put it in the introduction and result-discussion section. We thank for the suggestion. Related with the previous or prior works of non-catalytic methane conversion by plasma as reviewer explained, what we can explain here is that we added this information in this manuscript in order to ease the reader to make a comparison with the results using catalyst. In the revised manuscript, we put this information to clarify it. However, our previous paper and this manuscript have completely different purpose. In the previous paper, we want to compare between plasma and thermal process while in this manuscript, we focused on the catalyst and plasma. Thank you for the comments, suggestion, and questions from reviewer and editor. We are very welcomed for other questions or suggestion to make this manuscript better.
