Requirements of Child Work
1. Provide safety equipment 2. Safety condition 3. In some country, only children over 18 can work. Under 18 have to go to school 4. Should not work for long hours 5. They must get paid fairly 6. Treated equally
7. No working on Sunday 8. They must have at least 45 minutes of break. What protection or requirements would you for yourself?
For the protection, it depends on what type of work I do, for example: if I do rolling bedies, I have to use gauze mask to protect me from breathing all the tobacco because it could effects my respitory system. The most important requirements is that I need to have enough protection of what I do and I shouldn’t work for more
than 7 hours per day and I need to have at least 45 minutes break. Should these rules be applied internationally? Yes, because if we can apply these rules, child labour will not be called “child labour” anymore, its child work Would other countries like India be able to meet them? Yes, they would and maybe in the future but we need people to Co-operate to be able to apply this rules Why are there differences between countries on the issue of child labour? Because some of countries are really poor, not every child be able to go to school and they have to help their parents to make money for the family, so they kind of narrow the rules down so it will be easier to apply.
