DETAILS 26th of November 2008 was perhaps the darkest day in the history of the historical port city of Mumbai. People were dumb struck to the sounds of gun shots and grenade blasts as a bunch of young Jihadi brain washed youths sailed from the Pakistani port city of Karachi and landed cluelessly in the backyard of fisherman hamlet on the coast of sea shore. They walked unchecked into several of the city's hot spots with their automatic killer machines spraying a shower of bullets and throwing grenades into whatever came in their path. People fell prey like a pack of cards to their cruel intensions as they continued their unabated terror march and killing spree causing havoc in the country's economic capital. Some of the finest cops of Mumbai got into action and tried their best to stop these merciless youths from turning the city into a death zone. In there efforts several valiant officers lost their precious lives leaving behind a tale of agony and pain to their family members. Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Vijay salaskar, Tukaram Ombale and many more officers sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the young Bangalorean SPG commando along with a few other brave SPG men laid down their lives in fighting the terrorists. Several hundred people fell victim to this heinous crime of those Pakistani men who had no clue on what they were upto. Ajmal Kasab, is the lone terrorist who was bravely caught alive by the security men and is now languishing in our jail awaiting a trial and we all hope that he will be sent to gallows sooner than later provided the UPA Government don't play politics in this matter. To commemorate the sad events of 26/11 and to remember the brave martyrs of 26/11, BJP Karnataka IT Cell has organized an event on 26th November 2009, Thursday to pay homage to all those brave lives that were lost last year on this day. Please join us at 7-00 pm evening at Gandhi Statue, M.G.Road, Opposite to Cubbon Park Main Entrance, for a half hour activity during which we would light lamps, pray for the peace of the departed courageous souls, take pledge to work against terrorism, listen to a patriotic speech by a police officer and finally make a resolution that peace would rule the world and not hatred. We have also requested like minded organizations like BJP Karnataka Legal Cell, RSS IT Milan, Youth For Seva, Friends of BJP and several other voluntary, social organizations to join us in this noble initiative and help us in making this event a grand success. Please pass on this message to all your friends, colleagues, other contacts and kindly encourage them to support us for this half hour activity by making their presence felt at the venue in large numbers.
