Reimbursement of Medical Claims in case of Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Nadeem Asstt: Legal Section, (Retired).

Sir, It is submitted humbly that I am suffering from Angina, Hypertension and O.A. Glaucoma since long. Copies of recommendations of WAPDA Medical Board, Multan vide Memos No.ā€™s 3151/WHM/MS dated 19.04.99 and 2569-70/MDI/MD-10 dated 3.7.2002 duly approved by the Director General, Medical Services, WAPDA, Lahore have already been provided to the concerned section of Admn: Directorate. In both the said reports, Medical Board has recommended exemption from restrictions on reimbursement of medicine charges, but due to a typographical mistake in report of 2002, there is some confusion in processing of Medical Claims for reimbursement. According to their opinion, only Xalatan eye drops have been allowed for reimbursement, whereas in both the reports, the diagnosis are as under: Report of 1999.

Angina on effort, Hypertension & loss of vision of right eye.

Report of 2002.

Hypertension, Resting Angina + R. Glaucoma.

In view of the above, only Xalatan eye drops is not the remedy for all my sufferings. In report of 1999, no such mistake was committed, there was no problem or confusion. So, it may be presumed that recommendation of Medical Board for exemption from restriction on purchase of medicines stands valid. It is, therefore requested that my case may kindly be referred to Medical Superintendent WAPDA Hospital Multan for expert opinion/correct clarification, who may also call me for medical check-up by WAPDA Board, Multan to review my case, if considered necessary. In the meantime, if deemed fit, the reimbursement of medical bills may not be stopped as the nature and seriousness of diseases demand continued medication. Thanking you in anticipation. Your Obediently, M. Ashraf Nadeem (Rtd.) Asstt. (Legal Section) O/o AEB/C.E. Office MEPCO Ltd. Multan. R/o Ganj Shaker Colony, near Block ā€œEā€ Shah Rukn-e-Alam Colony, Multan. C.C. to: Medical Superintendent, WAPDA Hospital, Multan. He is requested for an early action please.
