Reaction paper on the film entitled “Rehas” By: Dmasterzz.

The said film showing was held on December 12th, 2017 at the Legazpi LCC Superama the so called film was filmed/played here in legazpi and the actors and actresses themselves are from here and spoke our native language the film revolved on a kid named “Junjun” whom committed shameful and horrible acts like theft and illegal use of drugs he only did these acts just to provide for his family because the father of Junjun named Badong is a drug addict and an alcoholic carrying those traits will not set as a good example to his children and may not provide for them due to his selfish ways. Badong the father of Junjun is always abusive towards her wife Sonya. Junjun spoke to himself that in order to provide for his family he should work hard so he sold coconuts to a stall near the pier and earn a small amount of money but the pay of the job isn’t enough to sustain for his family so the act of theft always came to his mind days passed a group of youngsters approached him and spoke to him “hey kid wanna earn a quick buck” Junjun had no choice but to accept the so called task Junjun became a drug seller and out of curiosity he tried the so called substance named Drugs in which resulted him on having an abusive behavior and accidentally punched a girl from the bar after the incident Junjun was sent to jail despite his age. On the prison cell room Junjun had a mere conversation with a bunch of youngsters whom were sent there because they’ve committed an act related to drug use the first detainee was framed up because the boyfriend of him committed suicide and the act was blamed on him the second one was a boy whom is seeking the love from his mother and is always busy so the boy got into a deep depression and thinked that drugs are the only reason for him to achieve happiness out of his wealthy lifestyle and the third detainee was the boy whom sold drugs to the second detainee and was caught on the act of doing so. In short note the film is about the inhumane way of imprisoning children instead of giving them behavioral lessons and also giving them another chance. This film may somewhat contribute to our subject “Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Region” in the use of a theater play that may be acted by us Senior high school students and to an Artistic approach on making paintings that depict poverty, violence, depression and many more traits that i observed in the movie that’s all.
