Mr. Patrick Heffer Executive Secretary IFA Agriculture Committee, International Fertilizer Industry Association, 28 rue Marbeuf, 75008 Paris, France
22 November 2009
Dear Patrick: I am sincerely obliged to IFA for supporting me partially for my participation in "2009 ASA, CSSA and SSSA International Annual Meetings", Nov 1-5, 2009 at Pittsburgh. I am immensely benefited through interaction with scientists from different countries during the deliberations of this important international meeting and sharing research findings of our research paper “Impacts of conservation agriculture on crop production and soil health in subtropical regions of south Asia”. There was a great deal of discussion on conservation agriculture being tried across the globe. This will lead to better research planning in future. As per your letter of 4 May 2009, IFA committed a contribution of $1000 to cover the costs of my registration, abstract processing fee, hotel accommodation, subsistence, etc. I understand that IFA has already paid $650 directly to the ASA Society as my registration fee. Now I request you for the payment of the balance amount of $350 to partially cover the expenses that I spent on subsistence (accommodation and meals) during my 5-day stay in Pittsburgh. Although I stayed as paying guest at two different places, but I do not have any receipt, except one receipt of $45 as ‘Abstract submission/processing fee’ (attached). I understand that IFA cannot give money without corresponding receipts. However, on an exceptional basis, kindly reimburse me the USD 350. Best regards
(Milkha Aulakh)
