Reflection In the first quarter, I learned about poem. Our goals were to be able to write TIQA paragraphs, to create a pastiche, and to write a page of reflection of my own pastiche in the final project of quarter one. Therefore, during class, ms. Laurin began class by letting us look at pictures, and try to think and come up with adjective or emotion of our feeling of those images. I think this was the good start of the lesson because it is like clues of what we were going to learn in the poem, ad this activity also helped me to understand poem clearer because of those images. After that, you would let us read poems to get used to it, and you then would let us annotate poem as group work. I think it is a good idea since it was the first time that we read poems in this year, we need friends to help each other understand, and also to get used to it. Not only that, it was also helpful, and the reason is that it letted us discuss to each other. Then, we were given the work which was to write the first TIQA paragraph. During do this paragraph, I had no idea to write even though I did it last year, but I completely forgot about how to do it. So, it likes I had to bring that old memory to use that skill in this work in order to finish this task, and I was panic because the deadline was 4 PM which I had about 2 hours to finish it. It is a very short time due to the fact that last year, I took around 2 to 3 days to finish a paragraph. However, the result was not that bad. I got 3 out of 4 which made me very happy. I think my writing TIQA paragraph skill is improved as it challenged me a lot. Secondly, since I was young, I can say I hate creating my own poem because I did not know how to write it as well as I always think that even Thai poem I cannot create it, how can I write my own poem in English version. But, after I studied how to write pastiches, my mind has changed. It is not difficult as I thought at first, and there is a variety of poem style. In present, I think it is fun since I like to write pastiches about what I like as you know I like Blackpink, therefore, I wrote a lot pastiches about Blackpink. However, sometimes it can be hard to think not only what literary device I am going to use, but also how I am going to begin and to end the poem. I think this is not easy because it is the sentence that will start my idea. If the opening is too narrow, I won’t be able to continue writing it. At the same time, if it is too broad, there are many things to say and I won’t be able to decide what I want to say. After I wrote more than 3 poems, I find that imagery is my favorite literary devices. Thirdly, I found that Williams’ poems are interesting, and not boring as I thought at the beginning of quarter. I think all 10 poems chosen by you have very strong meaning, and most of them are about life and death. My favorite Williams’ poem is “Willow Poem.” I believe that I notice what I never think about it because after I read “Willow Poem,”I notice that I know spontaneously death is a natural thing that one day all of the living things will die, but I never focus when I will die. This is surprised me. For my final project, it is quite big since I have to do 3 parts as I said in above, but I had only a week and 2 days to finish all of it. I thought that it is impossible to finish, but in the end, I finish it on Sunday night which means that I had 2 days left for checking my mistakes. When I saw your comments on Turnitin, I was shocked because my mistakes are so bad, and I should not do it wrong. I think that I already checked my project well since I re-read it more than three times. My mistake is I forgot to write the name of third TIQA paragraph in the thesis statement. I do not know how I can get this wrong. Another bad mistake is I accidentally write a comma in the sentence that I don’t need it. Therefore, these mistakes teach me that I have to be more careful while doing work because I can easily lose my points from small mistakes. There is a useful error in my paragraph which is word choice. I think this is very hard for me since even though I already know the meaning of words, I do not know which content I can use these new words. I think I need to practice more about word choice. However, my result is not bad. I got 91 percent which I am very proud of myself.

In TIQA paragraphs, I think A (analysis) has a progress because I think I feel I am able to connect my idea to Williams’ objective of poem while I write TIQA. Three examples are firstly in final project, the second paragraph which is about “Complete Destruction”, in TIQA paragraph which is about “Nantucket,” and in TIQA paragraph which is about “To a Poor Old Woman.”
