To Whom It May Concern: Mr. Thomson spent five weeks in my grade 7 classroom at the end of the 2009 school year. He had the opportunity to teach most subject areas to a grade 7 homeroom. During his practice teaching session at Edgewater Park School, he has demonstrated a positive rapport with the students. Mr. Thomson was quite comfortable teaching the physical education class. He had a lot of great lead-up games to help target and develop skills with the students. He was also successful in planning, delivering, and evaluating a unit in Geography. When planning for his lessons, he uses the Ontario Curriculum Guidelines and other available resources (ex. textbooks). He usually has materials ready and is prepared to deliver his lessons. Mr. Thomson was able to use some classroom management strategies to keep the students focused and on task. Overall, Mr. Thomson completed a successful placement in my grade 7 class.
