Reconstruction and running of Kantha Singh orphanage . Location:

Ledha village, Ghatsilla, Singhbhum district, Jharkhand,

An initiative of ‘People for Change’

Back drop: •Orphanage started six years ago by Kantha Singh, a mechanic by profession. •Takes care of 42-orphaned children. • Food managed by alms given by sympathizing villagers. •Orphanage burnt in an inferno in the summers of 2009. •All the children are now staying under the open sky.

Projects undertaken by us: Re-construction of school cum residential building for these children on priority. Mobilizing of other resources: food, clothes, note books, utensils & other utilities. Sponsorship of individual children to enable each child to complete his education till the higher secondary level. Vocational training for the children after they complete their education. Make a model self sustainable school which can be replicated elsewhere.
