Title: Decomposition of CCI4 and CHCI3 on Gliding Are Plasma Author: Antonius Indarto, Jae-Wook Choi, Hwaung Lee and Hyung Keun Song Registeration No. 5040163 The comments. This manuscript presents interesting work on the effects of initial concentrations, total gas flow rates and power consumption on the decomposition of chlorinated hydrocarbons (CCl4 and CHCl3) in gliding arc plasma. It has not been seen that the gliding arc plasma is used to investigate the chlorinated hydrocarbons system. Compared with other methods, the results from this method used in the paper are reasonable. The manuscript should be published. I now add some comments for the author’s consideration of modification of the manuscript. 1. Some important current references are missed in the manuscript, for example, Foglein et al.(2003) (PLASMA CHEMISTRY AND PLASMA PROCESSING 23 (4): 651-664); Khaleel and Dellinger(2002) (ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY 36 (7): 1620-1624); Kim et al. (1998) (ANALYST 123 (4): 607-610); etc. 2. There are quite a lot of grammatical problems. 3. Figures may be reduced or combined. Figures 4-7 are all concerned with the effect of applied input power frequency. Two curves in Figure 2 can be plotted on the one panel.
