Installing face2face Starter The installation of face2face Starter consists of two separate components:  the face2face Starter content  the face2face Starter application We strongly recommend that you install these components to the folders suggested during the installation process (default locations).

Windows users XP, Vista, 7 and 8 You need to have administrator rights on your computer to complete the installation. On most computers, the installation will start automatically when you place the disc into the DVD-ROM drive. If it does not: 1. Open the Start menu and click on My Computer, or double-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop. 2. Double-click on the DVD-ROM icon. 3. Double-click on the CambridgeApplicationInstaller.exe file and follow the onscreen instructions. Mac users 1. Insert the disc into your DVD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the CambridgeApplicationInstaller DVD-ROM icon on your desktop to open it. 3. Double-click the CambridgeApplicationInstaller application icon and follow the onscreen instructions. Installing face2face Starter to non-default locations If you wish to install the face2face Starter components to different locations, you must make sure that: a) you choose a different location for the face2face Starter 'application' (the second component installed) from the folder that you chose for the face2face Starter 'content' (the first component installed). The face2face Starter application folder cannot be in located within the face2face Starter content folder! b) you remember where you chose to install the face2face Starter application and face2face Starter content, as you will be asked to navigate to these folders every time you use face2face Starter (see the images on the next page).

Clearing user scores face2face Starter displays information about the user’s scores in the Progress screen. If you would like to remove all score information from this screen, you can do this at any time by following the steps below: 1. Close face2face Starter if it is open. 2. Windows XP: go to C:\Documents and Settings\[user_name]\Application Data Windows Vista, 7 and 8: go to C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming Mac: go to Users\[user_name]\Library\Preferences 3. Find a folder with “face2face Starter” in its name and delete it. Note that Application Data and AppData folders may be hidden. To unhide these folders (and others), open Folder Options in the Control Panel, and on the View tab, change the option to Show hidden files and folders, and click OK. Uninstalling face2face Starter The installation of face2face Starter consists of two parts:  the face2face Starter content  the face2face Starter application To completely uninstall the face2face Starter software, you must uninstall both parts by following the steps below:

Windows users 1. Close face2face Starter if you are running it. 2. From the Start menu, open the Control Panel. 3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and then Programs and Features (Windows Vista, 7 and 8); 4. Find face2face Starter application in the products list and click it to highlight it. 5. Click Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista, 7 and 8). The face2face Starter application is removed. 6. Next, click on face2face Starter content to highlight it, click Change/Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista, 7 and 8) and follow the onscreen instructions. Windows 8 users may need to manually remove some of the course content, should the application not uninstall fully (default: C:\Program Files\Cambridge\CambridgeContent).

Mac users 1. Close face2face Starter if you are running it. 2. In your Mac's Applications folder, navigate to the following folder: Cambridge\CambridgeContent\Uninstall_ face2face Starter content. 3. Open the Uninstall_ face2face Starter content folder, double-click the file called Uninstall face2face Starter content, then follow the onscreen instructions. 4. Once the uninstallation procedure has finished, go back to the Cambridge folder. In this folder, find the _ face2face Starter application icon. Drag this icon into the Trash to complete the face2face Starter uninstallation. Removing Installation instructions You will need to manually remove the file Installation instructions from your system if it is no longer needed. The Installation instructions file is located where the face2face Starter content was copied during installation (For example, in Windows if you chose the default location, then Installation instructions will be in C:\Program Files\Cambridge\CambridgeContent).
