1. Start with prayer. Ask God to prepare you to meet with Him. If there is something in your life that you know displeases Him, confess it. Let Him forgive you so that nothing will hinder your communion with God. 2. Read a specific passage of Scripture. Using a Bible reading plan could be useful tool. Note down the portions read. Underline the verse/ verses that stood out to you and pick one or two verses from it and write it out 3. Meditate on it for a while. Think about what you read, let the spirit guide you to understand, what God is speaking to you? 4. Application. Look for ways in which you can apply this truth in your life. Ask yourself “where do you personally fall short and what by the grace of God can you do about it?” 5. Prayer Requests. Note down your prayer requests and categorize them as follows 1. Personal 2 Family / Close Friends 3 Ministry 4 Friends 5 Missions/ Nations
6. Memory verse. Quote and write the reference of the current verse memorized. You could also list the verses reviewed. 7. End with Prayer. Pray for God’s guidance over the things he has shown you.
