5.1 Quality Relationships Rounded Average: 5/6
5 Nil 5 Keep the good ideas working. 4 Maybe have more of a persoonal way to gauge students' feelings and responses? support for staff - talking to admin/leadership has been seen as being weak and there is a 5 feeling that they are not truly being supported I think it all looks pretty positive. However, perhaps the issue of teachers "understanding" of 5 students' points of view. Also, bullying needs our ongoing attention. Offering alternative opportunities to gather in different areas of the school. given a safe place to gather when they need the space away form other students or introduced to other 4 students who feel the same. I think feedback would need to be sought from the students and parents who do not think the school has a positive relationship with them or their kids as to how we can change or 5 what we can implement to work towards this. 5 Not sure we could do much more. 4 I think these types of data need to be completed regularly. 6 Keep communication open. I think those visiting guest speakers that we have each year would have more impact if they 4 focussed intently on one year level. 4 To continue to monitor strategies and look for other avenues that reflect changes in society. staff are doing a great job, they attend camps, sports, information nights etc...All of these things contribute to positive relationships with students. The only thing I think might improve this area slightly, would be parent interviews with 5 subject teachers. Maybe 2 a year in place of TA interviews. 4 None 5 review parent-teacher interview issue 5 Continue to work with Sarah in the general promotion with a focus on wellbeing. 4 Reflection on data as a faculty group. 6 NA Having parents involve in small focus groups so that they are open to telling their side of the 5 story. I think focusing on developing and improving our current wellbeing programs based on our students' feedback (with a focus on creating positive vibes) will be more effective in lifting their perception of their school experience than introducing new programs. Also, ensuring adequate time is provided for such improvements/adjustments to be made is essential from the perspective of both students, teachers and other school staff - as it will allow quality, high impact and sustainable programs that develop supportive and respectful school 5 relationships to grow. It is through teachers continuing to build valuable relationships with students that improvements here can be made. A positive educational model supported by all is 5 beneficial. 4 Get rid of phones at school during the whole day. I am dismayed at the amount of screen time students have each day. Do students really need smartphones at school? A number of schools are collecting mobiles each day and 5 returning them at night. At break times at the moment many students seem to be defaulting
to individual time with a device rather than interpersonal interactions which may improve their response to the school experience as a whole Students seem to lack purpose in their education - possibility of continuing to explore 5 alternative programs for disengaged students. Unsure of what exactly. 4 . More work on resilience, respect for each other, cyber safety required. More work on study 5 skills and time management. 5
