What is quality ?  Quality

of a product is defined as “How it satisfies the customer needs”.  Quality is subjective term.  Quality is expressed with adjectives such as poor, good and excellent.  It is defined as a degree of excellence of a product .

Quality statement Quality statements are the overall intentions and direction for the organization with respect to quality set by top management. Types of quality statement  Vision statement  Mission statement  Quality policy statement

Vision statement The vision statement is a formal declaration of what the organization is trying to achieve in long term. Vision statement of Boeing company states that “Vision for Boeing in 2016 is people working together as a global enterprise for aerospace leadership”

Mission statement 

An organization mission is the reason for the organization existence.



It tells what the company is providing to society.



A mission statement answers the question such as who we are? Why we are? what we do ?how we do it ?

Mission statement of New Port shipping company says “we shall build good ships here- at profit we can –at loss we must-but always good ship “

Quality policy statement According to ISO 9000,  Quality policy is the overall quality intentions and direction of organization as formally expressed by the top management.  The quality policy is a guide for every one in the organization which says how they provide product or services to the customer.

planning is one of the foremost function of the members in the organization to achieve the quality objectives.
