October— Let’s Get This Bread This saying was brought back on World Bread Day (October 16th) after last being popularly used in 2007. It became the motivation mantra of the month, and frankly, for the rest of the year.

November— Surprised Pikachu Featuring a screenshot from the very first season of the Pokémon cartoons, the Surprised Pikachu meme circulated on Tumblr before making its debut on Twitter in November, just ahead of the debut of the Detective Pikachu trailer that was released in the same month.

December—Sicko Mode

July– Cardi B The Cardi B meme surfaced in July after she posted a photo of herself as a child. This is not the rapper’s first experience with popular cultural capital though, a gif of her on Jimmy Fallon became the most popular gif of the year.
