Community Outreach 2009

The Lord is always willing to heal any hurt or pain.

Wellness for all in need… Someone once said wellness is something the ill desire and most of us take for granted; yet without good health our bodies slow down or breakdown, and seemingly simple tasks become a major difficulty. We are content to make known a new event in our community: The Health Fair community Outreach. A group of ,who take a month out of their busy schedules, volunteer their services for the greater good. We are pleased to announce that this was the first Medical Fair we have had here at Living Word Church in Alto Bonito, TX. In attendance were four doctors and about thirty medical students and volunteers. These teams were headed by Dr. Johnson. Our church set forth a plan, and organized many months in advance so we could get the word out to the community to take advantage of such a wonderful opportunity. The patients were screened for blood glucose and high blood pressure. Each person received a free consultation and a thorough exam. The most wonderful aspect of this whole event was they were not only interested in helping heal the physical needs, but also focused their attention on their spiritual and emotional needs as well. We were greatly encouraged by the teams excellent service and bountiful generosity. We hope this event is a forerunner of more to come. A lesson to be learned here is when we work together as a team (body) we can accomplish great things for the good of all.

September 15, 2009 Dental Fair-LWC Members in need will be attended first.
