Mulan wants to be a warrior instead of letting her father do it because she does not her father to be a worrier since he is old. However, her dad does not allow her to do it because Mulan is a girl, and she supposes to stay at home.
Modelling It’s clear in the this scene that women are expected to stay at home, be a housewife and a good bride. Anything except for these roles is not accepted by the society. The child might imitate this thinking and learn that these behaviours are what a girl should do.
This comic strip shows the event after Mulan’s secret of being a female is revealed. She got called a treason, sent home, and the soldiers don’t except her from being a part of the army.
In-groups & Out-groups In the story, before everyone knows that she is a girl, they seem to welcome her and see her as an in-group because she has good fighting skill. However, Mulan is later seen as an out-groups because when they know that Mulan is a girl, they immediately called her “treason.”

Vicarious reinforcement Mulan loses the warriors’ trust because she is a female and got rejected from the army. This reinforced the child to see how a woman who work in what they might perceive as a male’s work gets treated like. Thus, they would learn that women can’t work as a soldier, even though this career is actually common for both sexes to pursue is the modern society.
Gender schemas It will influence child’s gender schemas by changing their thought about behavior that female and male should do. They will think that female can’t be a warrior and suppose to be a good housewife while male needs to go out and fight for their country.
