PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN! The government announced in October 2008 its intention to make Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) compulsory in all state schools from the age of five

Act now to defend the Islamic identity and values of your child FACTS: SRE is being taught in a way which promotes promiscuity rather than values underpinning correct and incorrect behaviour. The philosophy behind SRE is harms reduction, which promotes contraception rather than challenging unacceptable behaviour amongst children. Many schools hide the fact that you have a legal right to withdraw your children from SRE classes taught within PSHE Education. The SRE policy of schools detail what is being taught and how to exercise your opt out. This is agreed by the governing body. There is a concerted attempt to undermine the importance of marriage and promote homosexuality. Books such as ‘Tango Makes Three’ and ‘King and King’ promote homosexual family units as normal and schools routinely fail to consult parents before embarking on this controversial programme. SRE should not be made compulsory. Parents should maintain the right to withdraw their children from SRE lessons Governing bodies should decide how SRE is taught in line with parents’ wishes and ‘the culture of the community the school serves’.
