Project Proposal: Arduino Based Home Automation System OBJECTIVES (What is it? What is our project? What problem is it going to solve? A brief description of what we are planning to develop/showcase/do in our FYP/CAPSTONE.) Arduino Based Home Automation System (AHAS) is an home automation designed for controlling home appliances. Therefore, home appliances can be controlled from within the home and remotely. which controls a number of home appliances like lights, fans, bulbs and control the room temperature many more using on/off relay. You can control the security of your home with your phone. It’s help the user to control any electronic device using Device Control app on their Android Smartphone. MOTIVATION (What/which factors motivated us to carry out this work/study/project? Why we are developing it? Why this problem is worth to be solved? What is the market value of this work? Why does it need to be developed? How will we get a job after graduation by showing this project to the potential job seekers? How will it earn us money/job? A brief description of WHY???????) The world is change after the evolution of term called Automation. In every sector automation is reducing human labor. Firstly introduced in industries and now in a variety of sectors rely on automation system. Development of advanced home automation system has huge opportunity in present time. Again Internet of Things (IoT) is going to be a new era of technology in future. It is expected that 30 billion of devices will be connected within 2020. So it is the right to get prepared for the future technologies. METHODOLOGY (How it will be developed? How it will work or run)? What software development tools / techniques / methods / modules / databases / frameworks / technologies / algorithms / research approaches / tests / performance analysis will we use/perform to develop this project? How we plan to solve this problem? A brief description of how you plan to carry out it.) In the system, the Android platform app is developed as most of the phones and handy devices support Android OS. Java programming language using the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) has been used for the development and implementation of the smart home app. Arduino based device control using Bluetooth on Smartphone project can be enhanced to control the fan or volume of the buzzer. Home automation can be done device controlling using Internet of Things – IOT technology. BENEFITS/ADVANTAGES/IMPLICATIONS (Who (and how) will get benefitted from this project / software / app / website / research / study? Which persistent problem(s) is going to be solved by this milestone of ours? Who will use it? Who will play it (if it is a game?) How this project will be extended in the future? What are its potential benefits to us/university/Karachi/lyari//Pakistan/the World/humanity? Home automation offers a futuristic way of life in which an individual gets to control the entire house using a smart phone, from unlocking doors. It also use efficient of energy. Automation system also allows us to control the home appliances and keep an eye on the house from a distance. It is beneficial to the grandparents who usually stay at home alone. It is also very helpful for the to look after the home and easy to inform if there is any trouble in the house. A single android smartphone can control multiple devices. Any android phone can be used, no internet required once the app is downloaded.
