Nebuchadnezza r’s Dream 1. Who is the author of Daniel 4? Daniel 4:1

Daniel 4:1 “Nebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, nations, and men of every language that live in all the earth: "May your peace abound!”

Nebuchadnezza r’s Dream 2. What did Nebuchadnezzar hope to reveal through his testimony? Daniel 4:2-3

Daniel 4:2-3 “It has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me. How great are His signs, And how mighty are His wonders!”

Nebuchadnezza r’s Dream 3. Who did Nebuchadnezzar call in when he had his dream this time? Daniel 4:4-6

Daniel 4:4-6 “….I saw a dream and it made me fearful; and these fantasies as I lay on my bed and the visions in my mind kept alarming me. So I gave orders to bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

Daniel 4:7 “Then the magicians, the conjurers, the Chaldeans, and the diviners came in, and I related the dream to them; but they could not make its interpretation known to me.”

Daniel 4:10-18 “These were the visions of my head while on my bed: I was looking, and behold, A tree in the midst of the earth, And its height was great. The tree grew and became strong….

Daniel 4:10-18 Its height reached to the heavens, And it could be seen to the ends of all the earth…. I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven.

Daniel 10:10-18 “He cried aloud and said thus: 'Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get out from under it, And the birds from its branches. Nevertheless leave the stump and roots in the earth, Bound with a band of iron and bronze, In the tender grass of the field.

Daniel 4:10-18 “Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, And let him graze with the beasts On the grass of the earth. Let his heart be changed from that of a man, Let him be given the heart of a beast, And let seven times pass over him.

Nebuchadnezza r’s Dream 7. What was the purpose of the dream? Daniel 4:17

Daniel 4:17 “This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men…”

Daniel’s Interpretation 8. How did Daniel respond when he heard the dream? Daniel 4:19

Daniel 4:19 “Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke, and said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you."

Daniel 4:20-22 “The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to the heavens and which could be seen by all the earth… it is you, O king,.”

“They shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. Daniel 4:25

Daniel’s Interpretation 11. What did God hope Nebuchadnezzar would learn through this experience of insanity? Daniel 4:25

“…..They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” Daniel 4:25

Daniel’s Interpretation 12. Was Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom to be sure during this period of insanity? Daniel 4:26

Daniel 4:26 “And inasmuch as they gave the command to leave the stump and roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules.”

Daniel 4:27 “Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”

Daniel 4:29-33 “…That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws”

How God Saves People Today 21. When people take these four steps and invite Jesus into their lives, will their prayers be answered? Mark 11:24

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

The Fall Of Babylon In next weeks lesson we will see that God is patient with people and nations. We will observe how God brings an end to Babylon; and will see how the New Testament takes these events and applies them to what is called `Modern Babylon’ or `Spiritual Babylon’ and predicts a similar end.
