NuMedTec 3620 Schooner Drive Stockton, CA 95219 Re. Use of ProNutra with Wound Care Patients Gentlemen: I would like to report some positive comments about our recent use of ProNutra with some of our wound care patients. Overall, we have found ProNutra effective as well as user friendly. The staff finds it easy to mix and the patients tell me it has a pleasant taste so they like taking ProNutra very much. The first patient I would like to talk about is a female patient on a NG-tube contractured from M.S. and who had a wound on her big toe measuring 2 cm x 1.8 cm x 0.1 when we started her on ProNutra. We first noticed the wound during April 2004 due to a planter lesion. By May, despite using best practices, the wound continued to increase in size and became a stage IV measuring 3 cm x 2 cm x 0.2 cm. In four weeks of ProNutra at 1 bottle BID, the wound measured 0.8 cm x 0.5 cm and exhibited no tunneling. A second female patient had several stage IV wounds when we began ProNutra at 1 bottle BID. This patient had several interruptions in her treatment at our facility because she was transferred to hospital several times. Even though she had these interruptions, she showed positive results with the ProNutra. Her wounds were 4 cm x 5 cm x 0.2 cm mid coccyx with black scabs, 3 cm x 1 cm right hip, 2 cm x1 cm x 0.5 cm on the left hip and 6 cm x 3.5 cm on her left heal. During the short period of time this patient was on ProNutra, the majority of the wounds showed better than expected gains. The wound on her heel had completely healed in three weeks before she was once again transferred to the hospital. I am sure if we kept this patient on ProNutra consistently without the hospital stay interruptions, we would have seen more exciting results. I see faster than normal healing times while our patients are given ProNutra. Yes, I am very happy with the results.
Very truly yours,
