PRONOUN- are words that stand for nouns or for words that take the place of nouns. First person Second person Third person

SINGULAR I, me, mine, my You, your, yours He, him, his, she, her, hers, it, its

PLURAL We, us, our, ours You, your, yours They, them, their, theirs

REFLEXIVE AND INTENSIVE PRONOUNS- pronouns end in self or selves First person Second person Third person

SINGULAR Myself Yourself Himself, herself, itself

PLURAL Ourselves Yourselves Themselves

DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN- directs attention to a specific person, place, or thing (this, that, these, those) INTEROGATIVE PRONOUN- used to begin a question ( what, which, who, whom, whose) Ex: Who knocked on the door? What did Emily decide to do? Which of the books did Richard read? QUIZZ..... II. ACTION VERBS VERB- that tells what action someone or something is performing; action words

Ex: the art students are learning about perspective. III. ADJECTIVES AND ADVERBS ADJECTIVE- word used to describe a noun or pronoun Ex: hot onions That book Seventeen marbles More exercise The bicycle looked new ARTICLE- indefinite; a, an definite; the Ex: a contest, an opportunity, the winner ADVERB- a word that modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb. Ex: ADVERBS MODIFYING VERBS 1. The balloon floated up. 2. Your wallet is here. 3. Your letter arrived today 4. Now I will go. ADVERBS MODIFYING ADJECTIVES 1. I am extremely hungry. 2. The overly tired worker collapsed. ADVERBS MODIFYING ADVERBS 1. He drives rather carefully 2. The glass was not completely empty.

IV. PREPOSITIONS, CONJUNCTIONS AND INTERJECTIONS PREPOSITION- a word that relates the noun or pronoun. Ex: about, as of, at, but, for, from, in, on, into, of, off, beside, among, over 1.
