IN CHRIST Eph. 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Galatians 3:27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Colossians 2:6 [ Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life With Christ ] So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. OUTSIDE OF CHRIST/OF THE WORLD Ephesians 2:1-2 And you were(B) dead in the trespasses and sins 2(C) in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following(D) the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in(E) the sons of disobedience— 3among whom we all once lived in(F) the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and(G) were by nature(H) children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. How do I know that I am “In Christ”? 1 John 5 (short list) 1.
You believe that Jesus is the Christ (the anointed one of God that takes away sin and fills us with His Spirit) 2. You love and obey Godʼs word (you desire to please God and live his way) 3. You have your prayers answered (you see God working) 4. You do not live in continuous sin (patterns of sin)
“The Bibleʼs purpose is not so much to show you how to live a good life. The Bibleʼs purpose is to show you how Godʼs grace breaks into your life against your will and saves you from the sin and brokenness otherwise you would never be able to overcome… religion is ʻif you obey, then you will be acceptedʼ. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ is ʻif you absolutely accepted, and sure youʼre accepted, only then will you ever begin to obey.ʼ Those are two utterly different things. Every page of the Bible shows the difference. Dr. Timothy Kelly “Discipleship is our response to Grace.” “To be like Christ is to be a Christian.” “When we stand before Jesus each of us will be the sum of our choices.” Brennan Manning “The Signature of Jesus” “Who are we, really? We are who God says we are.” Martin De Haan II “My own journey has taught me that only when I feel safe with God do I feel safe with myself. To trust the Abba who ran to His wayward son and never asked any questions enables us to trust ourselves at the core.” Brennan Manning “Abbaʼs Child”
