CAST AND CREW BIOS CAST Antonio Brunetti: This is the first show Antonio has done with Collaboraction. He likes Collaboraction and what they do. Other Chicago credits include Turtle in Anungs First American Christmas with Vitalist Theatre, Two one-acts in Mayfly Plays - A Collection of Short Works" and Larry in The Country Girl with Illinois Theatre Center. Antonio was out of country for a while, performing in such things as Oleanna, Macbeth, Fool For Love, The Glass Menagerie, Urinetown and The Graduate. Antonio studied in Chicago and various places throughout Europe. Antonio is glad to be back in Chicago, his hometown, and doing things such as what you are witnessing tonight.

Aurelia Clunie: is thrilled to perform with Collaboraction again. Last year she was seen as part of Sketchbook 9 in What I Am Supposed to Be. Other regional theater credits include Living Green at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater and The Nacerima Society at Alabama Shakespeare Festival's Southern Writers' Project Festival of New Plays. Aurelia is a graduate of Northwestern University where she earned her BS in theater. Thank you to my friends and family for being incredible gifts in my life!

Scott Cupper has appeared in numerous productions in Chicago. Most recently, he performed as both Ivan and Shatov in Village of K_ (Bruised Orange). Before that you may have seen him gently dangling at Sketchbook 9 in The Dreaded Zeppelin (Collaboraction). He’s a company member with both the Strange Tree Group and Red Ink Productions. Favorite roles with Strange Tree include Mr. Clock in The Dastardly Ficus…, Capt. Mandy/Cristoff in The

Mysterious Elephant… and Mr. Spacky in Mr. Spacky. With Red Ink, he’s been on- and off-stage, acting in The Night Hank Williams Died and The Boys Next Door and directing Wit and God’s Favorite. Other favorite roles include the Eel of the Deep in Rogue 8 (Rogue Theater) and Billy in Pitching Penguins (Flaxen Theater).

Catherine Glynn has been Acting A long Ass time. Alligator tears, Burlesque, and Corporal Cat Cuddling are among her specialties both on stage and off. Her Day job Deals with Deportment, Elocution and Enunciation, the suits like to call it ‘Executive coaching.’ she’s also the Founder of G spot designs 312—and it’s true the things she makes really do make you feel good all over. Hell, If you ask her, she may Just make you something. “Katie would you please make me something Lovely Like a Mandarin colored vase or a Natty Neon green candle holder?” is a nice way to do it. O, and if you Pay her, she will absolutely make you something…say Perhaps a Quaint Quince colored jewelry box with Ragged Robins (look those up) Sitting Sweetly on Top. She is Thrilled to have learned to sing Tacky Torch songs and wishes to Thank sam in particular for allowing her to Undulate the Uvulas of the Unbelievably talented and Vocally Varied giftistas. She Wishes you all --the audience--a Walloping Wonderland of fun tonight, as if you were in Xanadu--with kubla khan or olivia newton john whichever version pleases You most. And Yes it’s true; she Yearns to be more Zen.

Gregory Hardigan is happy to be working with Collaboraction and especially Mr. Sam Porretta. He is a member of The Hypocrites, and has appeared in over a dozen of their productions; most recently The Hairy Ape (Ensemble) at the Goodman, The Threepenny Opera (Macheath) at Steppenwolf Garage and Miss Julie (Jean) at the Chopin. Other shows include As Told by the Vivian Girls (Henry Darger) with Dog and Pony, The Hothouse (Lobb) with A Red Orchid, Salao with Redmoon/Chicago Shakespeare, and Seagull with Redmoon/Steppenwolf. As a playwright, his work has been performed in Chicago, New York, Washington DC, London, Brighton, Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore. Love to Margaret.

Andy Junk is very excited to be making his Collaboraction debut! He is a member of Carpeted Afterhours, a sketch comedy troupe here in the city. You may have seen him as Paul D'Aspermont in The Jinx, (Appetite Theatre Company) or as The President in The Bohemian Theatre Ensemble's portion of the 365 Days/365 Plays Project.

Mia Park is happy to wear many hats in Chicago. Yoga changed her life and Mia's excited to share her love of it by teaching to individuals and groups. Go yoga! In Chicago's acting community, Mia acts in films, TV commercials, industrial films and joined SAG, AFTRA and AEA. For over eleven years, "Miss Mia" has co-hosted the underground cable music show, Chic-A-Go-Go, and MC's for groups like the Korean Consulate and the City of Chicago. She co-founded the Asian American theater company, A-Squared Theater Workshop where she produces and performs in their shows. In Chicago's music scene, Mia's played in over a dozen rock and jazz bands in Chicago since 1995. Mostly playing drums and singing in rock/ pop bands, she's also drummed for jazz bassist Tatsu Aoki and played keyboards with pop/rock bands. She's drummed and sang in the female Asian American reunion rock trio, Kim, for over ten years. As an Arts Administrator, Mia served as the Asian American Cultural Ambassador for The Old Town School of Folk Music and curated programs at the Chicago Cultural Center. She founded the art gang, "Team Do!Boo!" in January, 2004, with other free spirited and creative Korean American women who occasionally perform. She's always producing a variety of music or theater shows at any given time. Mia's contributed to Chicago's non-profit community by working at Women In The Director's Chair and by teaching English at the Korean American Cultural Resource Center and the Korean Senior Center. Mia

is published in YELL-OH Girls! and sometimes writes for Giant Robot and Roctober Magazines. She also edits an internet newsletter called, Kick Ass, which features local and national information on entertainment, activism and Asian American events. For fun, Mia practices yoga & loves bicycling!

Hannah Phelps has been living in Chicago, cultivating her status as an Ultimate Bears fan, and acting on stage and in film for five years. Her favorite roles include Abigail in The Crucible, Ghengis Khant in The Flaming Dames, Mary in The Vanities, and film roles in Mosul, Illinois and Eastern College (available on Amazon.com!). When she's not acting, Hannah is usually eating, watching football and spending quality time with her boyfriend, Jamie and their dog, Ruby. She would like to thank Sam, Collaboraction, the cast and crew of The GIFT for a wonderfully fun time, her agents at Gray Talent, her family and her friends.

Emma Stanton is a graduate of Boston College and has received training at the British American Drama Academy’s London and Oxford programs and also at Double Edge Theater under the direction of Stacy Klein. Besides working with Collaboraction, Emma has worked with Redmoon Theater, Walk-About Theater, Red Tape Theater, Dramatis Personae, and American Theater Company. Alongside acting, Emma loves writing plays and recently was one of the recipients of the Civic and Arts Foundation Playwriting Award for Emerging Artists. She is a member of Walk-About Theater Company and Dramatis Personae and looks forward to writing their shows in the spring. Emma would like to thank Sam for giving her this wonderful opportunity, the performers for their creativity, and her friends for their support.

COLLABORATING ARTISTS CREW Alfredo Aguilar (Stage Manager/Technical director) is excited to be joining Collaboraction for the first time. He is excited to be diving into the Chicago theatre scene after having just moved here from his home

area of Marlboro, MA. He is a graduate from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, MA where he received his BFA in Arts Management and Theatre. Since graduating he has traveled the U.S. working for various theatre companies such as Trumpet in the Land in New Philadelphia, Ohio; North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts; Missoula Children's Theatre in Missoula, Montana; Naples Dinner Theatre in Naples, Florida; Zeitgeist Stage in Boston, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in the Bahamas. Alfredo is excited to make Chicago his new home and would like to thank his friends and family for all of their love and support. Enjoy our “Gift” to you.

Jeffrey Gardner (Visual Dramaturg) is a director, producer and dramaturg with a passion for the adaptation and renewal of classical and Greek theatre. He was formerly an adjunct instructor at Kenyon College, Gambier OH, teaching Classical theatre history. Upcoming projects include MEDEA WITH CHILD with Sideshow theatre and OUR FAIR CITY (an episodic web series) with Ko Threat Productions. Recent directorial credits include: WAR MUSIC (Logue), THE BACCHAE (Euripides), ANTIGONE (Anouilh), OF MICE AND MEN (Steinbeck) and THE CHAIR (Rice).

Jeremy Getz (Lighting Designer): A Collaboraction company member since 2000 he has designed lighting for nearly all company productions and events including The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow, The Cosmonaut’s last Message, Tulsa Lovechild, Refuge, and all Sketchbook Festivals. For the past eight years, he has served as guest artist and lighting designer for Albany Park Theatre Project. In addition, Jeremy has lit productions for many Chicago-based organizations including Theater Wit, Teatro Vista, Chicago Dramatics, Oak Park Festival Theater, and Ensemble Espanola. When not in the theater Jeremy works as a project manager and Programmer for Intelligent lighting Creations, Upstaging Inc, and several other Chicago Lighting and event companies. He has also designed the lighting for several local nightclubs and restaurants, including Avec, RedNofive, Hydrate and OHM. He also has served as the technical director at Northside College Prep High School for the last 7 years.

Elsa Hiltner (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be designing with Collaboraction on G.I.F.T.! Earlier this season she designed costumes for Collaboraction’s SKETCHBOOK 2009, JON, and has costumed many events with Collaboraction in the past year. Other favorite Chicago credits include DRIVING MISS DAISY (Nominated for a Jeff Award for Best Costume Design), JEEVES INTERVENES, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, DESIGN FOR LIVING, and A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN (First Folio Theatre); THE AUTUMN GARDEN and BOURBON AT THE BORDER (Eclipse Theatre); THE BIRTHDAY PARTY (Signal Ensemble). Jaclyn Holsey (Visual Dramaturg) is normally not seen working behind the magic curtain as a stage manager. She has had the privelage to work on Collaboraction's recent shows Jon and had a brief stint with El Grito del Bronx as well. Other Chicago credits include It's A Wonderful Life, Augusta, St. Scarlett and Half of Plenty with ATC, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with Teatro Vista, Living Green with Victory Gardens and the currently running production of Doctor Harlon's Keys to Better Living. She would like to thank Sammy for letting her come and play.

Martin Kamenski, Managing Director: Martin has been producing theater in the Midwest for seven years now. For the last two years he has had the pleasure of serving on the staff of Collaboraction and aiding in the production of eight full productions, two galas, and countless events. Most recently, his work to plan for and manage the co-production of El Grito del Bronx with Teatro Vista at the Goodman Theater led to critical and organization success. Martin also is President and owner of Rockstar CPA, an accounting firm that specializes in clients in the creative and entertainment industries, and serves on the boards of directors of Matter Dance Company and the Global Alliance of Artists.

Chelsea M. Marcantel (Script and Story) was recently honored with an Emerging Playwright Award from the Chicago Union League Civic and Arts Foundation. Chelsea was born, raised, and very well fed in south Louisiana; she received two BAs and a Master’s degree from LSU. In Chicago, her work has been produced by The Side Project (STUNT), Collaboraction (Beatrice & Beau : Sketchbook 9 Audience Choice Award), Point of Contention (Four Faces) and R7Co (The Tiniest Sound in Recorded History, Round Earth's Imagined Corners).

She has also worked as a writer, director, assistant director, and dramaturg with The Hypocrites, The Side Project, InFusion Theatre Company, People*s Theatre, The Resonants, and the Bailiwick Director's Festival. Chelsea is a pescetarian and thinks you're cute, too. www.chelseamarcantel.net.

Sarah Moeller (Producer/Production Manager) is a Collaboraction company member, resident production manager and director. Her past credits with Collaboraction include Production Manager for El Grito del Bronx, Heroes and Villains, JON, Gold Brick and The Siddhartha Project, Stage Manager for The Pull Toy and his Paisan, Sketchbooks 6, 7 & 8, director for SLP's 365 Project and the premiere studio series project, Tone Clusters. She is also a company member at Eclipse Theatre Company where she works as a dramaturg, director and stage manager. When she isn’t working in the theater she can be found teaching elementary music around Chicago.

Liviu Passare (Video Designer) is a multimedia artist who sees art as a historical event. His interest is in new media and technology and interactive installations and has been collaborating with various artists, theaters and improv comedy groups. He is a skilled video designer, cinematographer, editor, animator and has produced, directed and performed for live multimedia experiences. Among his collaborators are Collaboraction, Redmoon, DePaul Theatre School, Theatre Seven, The Gift Theatre, Improvkitchen, Maria Marshall, Takao Kawaguchi, Otto, Tiesto, ATB, Carl Cox. Miles Polaski (Sound Designer) is a sound designer, composer and musician in Chicago, IL. He is the resident sound designer with Collaboraction and a music director/curator with Serendipity Theatre’s 2nd Story. In 2008, Miles worked on music for Lie of the Mind at Strawdog Theatre which won a non-equity Jeff Award and his sound design for White People at The Gift Theatre was nominated for an equity Jeff Award. In 2007, he was nominated for two non-equity Jeff Awards for his sound design and original compositions for Equus at Actor’s Workshop. Miles has had the pleasure of working with many Chicago theatre companies, since moving to Chicago in

2004, including TUTA, Chicago Dramatists, Noble Fool Theatricals, The House Theatre of Chicago, Chicago Shakespeare, Light Opera Works, Redmoon, The Hypocrites, Theatre Seven, Infamous Commonwealth, Backstage Theatre, among others. Before moving to Chicago, Miles worked as an actor and sound designer at The Barter Theatre, state theater of Virginia.

Sam Porretta (Director) is a Chicago-based director, designer and actor. He has been a Collaboraction company member since 2004 where he has art directed and designed environments for the past six Sketchbook productions (20042009), Jon, Guinea Pig Solo, Carnaval (2005-2006), Beggar’s Banquet (20042006), Suffering City, Krisis and Prom. Sam has also designed sets for Serendipity Theatre Collective (Girl 20), Theater Wit (Men of Steel), and Field House Lab (Orpheus Now). As a performer, he has worked with several Chicago companies such as

Redmoon Theater, The Hypocrites, Strawdog and Trap Door. This past year he studied design methodologies at Archeworks, an alternative design school working with a multidisciplinary design team including members of Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee. There he helped to create strategies to engage Chicago’s ethnic and cultural communities in the Olympics.

Katie Schuering (Rehearsal Photographer) is pleased to be back in Chicago and working with Collaboraction after recently graduating from Syracuse University's AD design program. She's an avid photographer with a background in art and a penchant for all things design-related. Her portfolio can be found online at katieschuering.com.

Jeremy Sher (Assistant Director): As a Chicago-based actor, Jeremy has worked with The Neo-Futurists (Strange Interlude at The Goodman), Redmoon Theater (Hunchback - AfterDark Award, Outstanding Performance), The Building Stage (Dustbowl Gothic - AfterDark Award: Outstanding Production), Next Theatre (The Long Christmas Ride Home), and Stage Left (In Times of War). Regionally, he’s worked at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Shakespeare Theatre D.C. Off-Broadway: The New Victory Theater. He also leads workshops in Suzuki, Viewpoints and Movement.

Becki Smith (Assistant Stage Manager) is a very recent transplant to Chicago and is thrilled to be working with Collaboraction on this production! In love with all aspects of technical theatre and unable to make up her mind, she has been backstage as a stage manager, carpenter, electrician, board op, props girl, and more. She

has spent time with the Childrens Theatre of Madison in Wisconsin, The Santa Fe Opera in New Mexico, and Victory Gardens Theatre during a brief stay a few years ago.

Jason C. Stebbings (Props Designer) www.Worldfade.com, is an accomplished designer, multimedia producer, and teacher. He began his career as Creative Director for Chicago Kitchen and Bath, after studying at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from where he holds a BFA in Industrial Design. Jason transitioned into technical theater as a set designer in 2000. He produced sets for several stages in Chicago, including Redmoon Theater, before launching his services to Club Med resort theaters in Colorado and Mexico. Through the media venue of video, Jason has produced segments for conferences and wedding receptions, as well as raised awareness for local non-profit agencies and special needs children. In 2002, Jason moved abroad to the Dominican Republic pursuing an opportunity to mentor at-risk American teenagers at a boarding school. Enjoying the challenge of teaching, as well as the local culture, Jason then instructed Intermediate and Advanced English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to first language Spanish speakers. Upon returning to Chicago in 2007, Mr. Stebbings has continued teaching and freelance designing. Saverio Truglia (Photographer) is a photographer of all things darkly humorous and out-of-place. He is a commercial photographer hired to create national print advertising campaigns for beer, gum and banks plus magazines like Time, Rolling Stone and Fast Company. He's a long time contributor to Collaboraction and is honored to be part of G.I.F.T.
