PRIORITIES, ISSUES, AND TASKS IN JESUS CHRIST

PRIORITIES Knowing God and his will while seeking his promised eternal life comes first for me. I choose to live this affirmation by dedicating my time, talents, money, thoughts, actions, and feelings to my relationship with Jesus Christ, and nothing more. Giving these things to anything else separates me from God’s will and my aim. I choose to listen for God’s revelation of his plan for me. As I wait to hear, I choose to study and live according to his word. I choose to consider the needs of other people before my own so I may live larger than myself, and so I may more keenly see my own requirement for God’s grace through Jesus. I accept as God’s plan that I should have friendships to live beyond myself, and that in them I should act Godly, live His word, and evangelize. Family: I accept as God’s plan that I should place my wife and our children before all other earthly things, and that I should dedicate my time, talents, money, thoughts, actions and feelings to them above all other earthly things. I believe my marriage needs more of my dedicated time. I believe my children’s love of music obligates me, and gives me the opportunity, to share my musical gift with them in a structured way. I accept my obligation to nurture their intellectual, psychological and physical development as part of their spiritual development. Career/Work and Money: I accept my obligation to understand and implement principles, consistent with what Christ taught, of work as it relates to earning money, and of financial stewardship. Obstacles: What are the obstacles? Habit. Not wanting to do it. Building my own monuments and idols: my job, wanting a beautiful house and yard, selfishness, not wanting to be bothered. What are the prices of living according to the priorities? Watching lessTV. Overcoming a sense of entitlement to my regular level rest and recreation hours. Overcoming laziness. Always remembering aim. Remembering the needs of others. Remembering the benefits of remembering. How: With Christ in me and me in Christ.
