PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARS PROGRAM 20092010 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM
IMPORTANT: You must file an application for general admission to Cal State Fullerton before applying for the President’s Scholars scholarship. Scholarship applications from students who have not applied to the university will not be considered. This scholarship is not transferable between other CSU campuses. In addition to highschool transcripts submitted for general university admission, you must request and send a separate set of transcripts for this scholarship. You are responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of your transcripts to the program office. Check with your school’s registrar to confirm that a separate set of transcripts is sent to our program office by the deadline date of January 30, 2009.

ESSAYS
7. Please submit the following two word‐processed essays with your other application materials. Handwritten essays will not be accepted. Print each essay separately on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet of white paper. Include a second sheet for each of the essays if required. Include your full name, high school, and date on the top right‐hand corner of each sheet. Please limit each response to about 400‐500 words. Essays can be single spaced if the font size is no smaller than 12.
Pay close attention to clarity, content, grammar, punctuation, and style. A scholarship committee carefully reviews all essays and application materials. The resulting scores can significantly influence your overall ranking among finalists.
Essay 1 Background:
Every year the University President personally selects each member of the President’s Scholars incoming freshman class. President’s Scholars must meet high standards in academic performance, community involvement, and overall contributions to the university at large.
Essay:
Why do you believe that you should receive this scholarship and be counted among the “best of the best” at Cal State Fullerton next year? (Things to think about when answering this question: What makes you stand out among your peers? How do your academic accomplishments, leadership abilities, and volunteer activities qualify you to be a Cal State Fullerton President’s Scholar?)
