Management is a process of taking decision and putting them into action. Management work as a brain in any organisation. Management is universal in nature in the modern industrial world. Management means manage man tactfully.

“Management is the co-ordination of all resources through the process of planning, organising, directing and controlling in order to attain goals.” “Management is the process by which a cooperative group directs actions towards common goals.”
Levels of Management
The role of the top management •

Top management lays down the objectives and broad policies of the enterprise It issues necessary instructions for preparation of department budgets It prepares strategic plans It controls & coordinates the activities of all the departments
The role of the middle management • They make plans for the sub-units of the organization. • They evaluate performance of junior managers • They participate in employment & training of lower level management • They are also responsible for inspiring lower level managers towards better performance
The role of the lower management • They guide and instruct workers for day to day activities • They motivate workers. • They are responsible for the quality as well as quantity of production. • They help to solve the problems of the workers.
