In On At

We can use the preposition ‘in’ when we talk about… Months e.g. We usually have our final year exams in June. Years e.g. I was born in 1994.

Parts of the day e.g. I usually do homework in the evening. Seasons e.g. I like to go to the beach in summer.

We can use the preposition ‘on’ when we talk about… Dates e.g. I was born on 14th November. Days of the week e.g. We don’t have to go to school on Saturdays. e.g. We have shorter lessons’ time on Day 1 and Day 4.

Special days e.g. We always have a big meal on Christmas day. Specific parts of a day e.g. We often go to church on Sunday mornings.

We can use the preposition ‘at’ when we talk about… Time e.g. I usually eat dinner at 7p.m. Meals e.g. I seldom eat a lot at breakfast. Festivals e.g. We often go to mainland China at Easter.
