Preparing for a Dissection in Your Classroom Laura will supply: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Specimens Goggles Bicycle Pumps – to blow up lungs Marbles – to play with the epiglottis and esophagus 5. Dish soap, bleach, and towels

Dissection supplies Teachers will need to supply: 1. Dish tubs to place specimens into (if you want) 2. Lots of newspaper to cover tables or plastic covering that you can throw away 3. Garbage bags to protect student clothing- If you use white bags, have students draw, with a Sharpie, the lung on the front and label 4. Adult scissors - one per group 5. Gloves – one set per student

6. Parents- one parent per group (4 to 5 students in a group) 7. A place for students to go if they don’t make it through the dissection. I normally loose 3 kids per class that will get sick or pass out at the site of the lung and heart.
