Rain Is drops of water called rain at 0.5 millimeter in diameter. Drizzle is another type of rain that is smaller and mist is the smallest amount of rain.
Sleet Is when raindrops fall through a layer of air below freezing, ice particles smaller than 5 millimeters in diameter called sleet. While there is sleep sometimes trucks put salt in the road to keep it from being so dangerous.
Freezing Rain Is when rain falls through cold air but doesn’t freeze until it lands on a cold surface. A smooth thick layer of ice will build up on every surface.
Snow • Is often water vapor in a cloud that is converted directly to ice crystals called snowflakes.
