Powerful Prayers

PARENTS’ PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH O Glorious St. Joseph, to you God committed the care of His only-begotten Son amid the many dangers of this world. We come to you and ask you to take under your special protection the children God has given to us. Through Baptism, they became children of God and members of his Holy Church. We consecrate them to you today, that through this consecration, they may become your foster-children. Guard them, guide their steps in life, form their hearts after the hearts of Jesus and Mary. St. Joseph, who felt the tribulation and worry of a parent when the child Jesus was lost, protect our dear children for time and eternity. May you be their father and counsellor. Let them, like Jesus, grow in age as well as wisdom and grace before God and men. Preserve them from the corruption of this world, and give us the grace one day to be united with them in heaven forever. Amen. PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH FOR PERSEVERANCE O dear St. Joseph, foster-father of our Divine Redeemer, and Spouse of our holy Mother Mary, thou didst live with them and toil for them through all the years of the hidden life, and thou didst die in their arms. By the love thou bearest to them and the love they bear to thee, pray for us always and guard us. Obtain for us, O patron of a happy death, the grace to live and die in God’s love and favour, that we may spend our eternity with Jesus and Mary and with thee, O dear St. Joseph. Amen. In honour of St. Joseph Ask God for the grace to persevere in our resolutions and in devotion to St. Joseph; consecrate ourselves to his powerful patronage, together with all our family and interests. PRAYER OF A MOTHER EXPECTING A CHILD I glorify You Celestial Father, God the Creator, because you have done great things in me and a child is going to be born of, fruit of a love that you blessed. Jesus, Son of God, You who allowed me to adore tiny little You in the manger, I offer you my own little child, Your brother/sister. Enrich him/her with the beautiful gifts of nature and grace. May he/she be our joy on earth and in eternity Your glory! Holy Spirit, cover me with Your shadow during these blessed months of waiting, so that nothing evil happens to my little child and that his or her soul may be ready to become your sanctuary in Baptism. And you, Mary Queen of mothers, help me, I pray you, at the time of my child’s birth. I accept beginning now, all the suffering that may come and I ask you to offer it all to God for the sake of my child. My Holy Angel Guardian and Holy Angel Guardian of my child, watch over both of us. Amen.
