Issues & Solution: Q.1. Is the deal justified? Ans.:-

The predictions made by authorities of Tata steel were justified to a large extent because: The did their homework very well. They were aware of their SWOT. It was a calculated risk.

 They had a concrete plan to justifying their statements, predictions which was practical. But at the same time there was element of doubt that how are they going to raise such a huge amount of money. It is not sure are they prepared for worst case scenario?

Q.2. If you were “Ratan Tata” what would your decision be? Ans.: Economy is growing strong & there are less visible possible threats. There is a potential to acquire the company (funds, infrastructure). Future is India.

Corus is not a bankrupt company but is in good condition so there is no issue to rebuild it. It is a big chance to emerge into a vast global market

Q. 3. Threats & opportunities of the Tata Corus deal Ans.:Threats: Unstable market demand Tough competition Funding Raw materials procurement To handle cultural, organizational conflict which arises out of acquisition.

Opportunity:Growing market. Resources. Potential to give tough fight to rival companies. Chance to grow bigger.
