PIGMENT DYEING
BACKGROUND V
Pigment dyeing is not really " dyeing" in it's truest form.
V
Pigments are insoluble in water. They are milled into a paste for garment dyeing purposes.
V
The process is complete when a binder is added to "lock" the pigment into place.
TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT
V
Pigments are generally used for light to medium dyeing for fully fashioned garments and for indoor cloth such as wall covering, furniture, table cloth and bed sheets…
V
Pigments are also used to achieve dark shades for outdoor fabrics like tents, stores, awnings…
V
The process is attractive when dyeing cotton/synthetics fabrics in a single phase. AVCO VIETNAM May 2006

V
Compatibility of all chemical & pigment is important for the whole process to run correctly
V
AVCO pigment dyeing process is developed thanks to our experience from production for many decades
V
Drying at maximum temperatures 100°C to 150°C is VITAL to achieve curing and good rub fastness. NO moisture should be left in the fabric. This is called “BONE DRY”.
V
Similar shades should be dried in the same drums in order to avoid staining.

HIGHLIGHTS & TIPS
V
GIVES A UNIQUE «WASHED DOWN» OR «WEATHERED» LOOK ON THE GARMENTS STRAIGHT AFTER DYEING AND DRYING
V
IMPARTS A SOFT HANDLE TO THE DYED GARMENT WITHOUT SOFTENER ADDITION
V
MORE ECOLOGICAL: ALMOST TOTALY EXHAUSTED BATH
V
BETTER PENETRATION AND LEVELLING
V
BETTER COLOUR YIELD AS WELL AS HIGHER BRILLANCY NOTE: STAINING OF THE DYEING EQUIPMENT: For cleaning the machines we recommend to use AVCOCLEAN OGM. The dosage is depending on how strong is the staining. AVCO VIETNAM May 2006
