Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11 : 1) 1
Jesus Walks on the Water (Matthew 14) 25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 26
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water.“ 29"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 28
What is faith? • Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to man… (CCC 162) • Faith is a personal act - the free response of the human person to the initiative of God who reveals himself… (CCC 166)
30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.
Jesus’ help in our daily life :
Conclusion • Faith is a free response to God’s revelation. • Taking the 1st step to follow Jesus. • Have faith that He will save us. • Keep fire in our faith!!
