Eagle Eyes
Reading Tips “Daily reading practice should include reading the same books repeatedly, until they are mastered. By having your child read books repeatedly, you are ensuring that they will have sufficient time to master skills. Remember that it is always important to be patient when children are learning how to read. It can be tempting to become frustrated when children are first learning how to read, or to continually tell them what the correct word is. However, for children to fully derive the most benefit from their reading practice, it is best if they sound out words for themselves. By using these and other 1st grade reading tips, you can be sure that your child will progress with his or her reading skills.” For more information on reading tips please check out http://www.1stgradereadingsuccess.co m/
Attached is the Learner Profile. Please encourage your child to be practicing these attributes at school as well as at home and in their community. If you observe your child putting the Learner Profile into practice, please write me a note in his/her Take Home Book so they can be recognized at school and rewarded. I tell the students that my “eagle eyes” are on them looking for actions that show me they are living the Learner Profile, so parents get out your Eagle Eyes! ☺
