The Lord Is My Shepherd Read PSALM 23:1-6 Roslyn Catracchia
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me al the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
The Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. I hear these words of the Psalmist, and I immediately feel peace. I don’t even want to talk after I hear them. I want to sit in His presence and feel His peace, the peace that passes all understanding. In the middle of our hectic, crazy lives, running from place to place; our Shepherd calls us to lie down. He leads us beside still waters. He restores our souls. He restores my soul. He restores your soul. I am so humbled that the God who created heaven and earth is our Shepherd.
P r ay e r Lord, I am humbled by Your majesty and Your glory. I want to dwell in Your house forever and ever. I want to breathe in Your presence and feel Your peace. Speak, Lord, and I will listen. In Your name I pray, Amen.
