Wabo®CompressionSeal Pavement Series

Preformed Elastomeric Joint Seal

DESCRIPTION: Wabo®CompressionSeal pavement series is a preformed elastic joint seal designed for concrete pavements. Manufactured of neoprene and installed with a lubricant adhesive, it is highly resistant to deterioration from exposure to weather, sunlight, oils, and impact. One of the major causes of pavement blow-up is the entrance of incompressibles entering into the jointing systems. Wabo®CompressionSeals pavement series are designed with an internal elastomeric cross-sectional web design that allows the pavement to expand and contract during temperature changes.

FEATURES/BENEFITS: •

Unique Design The Wabo®CompressionSeal configuration maintains sidewall pressure against the joint allowing uniform contact to achieve a watertight joint Material Composition Wabo®CompressionSeals are manufactured of high-quality neoprene and are therefore highly resistant to jet fuels, weather extremes, and high impacts. Ease of Installation The lubricant adhesive facilitates the Wabo®CompressionSeals pavement series installation process and provides a vehicle to give intimate contact with the joint wall by filling minor voids in the joint interfaces.

RECOMMENDED FOR:

• • •

Sealing joints for concrete pavement slabs Primarily used in concrete roadways, airport runways, and aprons Expansion joint applications with maximum movements less than 1 inch

TYPICAL DETAIL: The degree of slab movement and actual joint width should be known before the appropriate sized Wabo®CompressionSeal pavement series can be selected. Any variation in joint openings as well as creep and shrinkage should also be considered.
