World Computer Exchange Party & Fundraiser WHEN : Friday, April 24th, 9:00 PM-10:00 PM social hour, 11:00 PM onwards Dance Party (Casual dress allowed, no caps and loose jeans) WHERE : 183 State St, Boston, MA 02109 RSVP : $10, Tickets available at the door. The proceeds will go towards a shipment of 400 computer sets to connect 15 Gandhian schools in Gujarat, India to the Internet.
World Computer Exchange (WCE) is a global education and environment organization founded in 2000 to connect more youth in developing countries to opportunities, skills, and understanding via the Internet – while keeping working computers out of landfills. With our 700 volunteers, WCE is the largest US non-profit provider of reused computers to connect youth in developing countries. Studies show that the reuse of a computer is 25 times more carbon efficient than destroying one and re-manufacturing a new one. Our work helps to implement the UN’s Millennium Development Goals in Education.
