An invocation led by the UB Choir followed by the singing of the national anthem started the first part of the orientation program. The UB Dance Company also gave an opening number. After which, Dr. Abegayle Perez-Chua, VPAA and Dr. Hernando B. Perez, university president welcomed and gave their messages to the parents. The parents were afterwards oriented about the University of Batangas from its mission, vision and philosophy to its administrative officials. Representatives from selected offices (Registrar’s Office, Cashier’s Office, Accounting Office and Security Office) also discussed some standard operating procedures (SOP’s) of their respective offices. The Nursing Department also gave timely and relevant information about the Influenza A (H1N1) virus, how to keep ourselves safe and to prevent the virus from spreading. The first part of the program ended by a message from Atty. Jesus V. Mayo the Vice President for Student and External Affairs. Accompanied by their respective deans or faculty-in-charge, the parents made their way to their children’s department for the second part of the program – Encounter with the Deans. The deans oriented them with the SOP’s, policies, rules and regulations of each department. Before every department ended their talk, an evaluation was given to the parents. They evaluated the activity using the following scale: 5 – Achieved or Relevant to a VERY GREAT EXTENT, 4 – Achieved or Relevant to a GREAT EXTENT 3 – Achieved or Relevant to a MODERATE EXTENT, 2 – Achieved or Relevant to a VERY SLIGHT EXTENT and 1 – Not applicable The summary of evaluation for the activity was presented as follows.
