ABSTRACT “THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN PHYSICAL FITNESS OF COLLAGE STUDENTS ” Implementation of conceptual approach Director of physical education has to face many difficulties while promoting is subject at college level. Till the time the boys and girls are in the collage either they are fully trained or else fully blank but at the same time it is very important for a DPE to inculcate the importance of physical fitness in today’s generation. A DPE is quite busy in the first half with tournaments and in the second half with his professional development at the same time he has to find out the time for non-playing students. He will have to work with them jointly with his players in today’s competitive world it is not at all easy to survive on sports and hence it is difficult to convince students to attract them to this field. You can thank media and cricket for this. Anyway we are here to do our job with full satisfaction and so we should start with some different flexible and friendly methods may be some of you must have already tried it . A method of conceptual approach to physical education can be implemented at college level

By developing the physico lab Modified Concept of Conceptual Approach:A method of conceptual approach to Physical education can be Implemented at college level. ‘The Why, The How, The What ’ Firstly this system was developed and implemented in USA by Carbin and Lindsay in 1981. THE WHY : Exercise and fitness are important THE WHAT: - Owns fitness needs THE HOW: - To attain and maintain fitness throughout The life Spain. These approach shows student how to solve their own fitness problems. Basic to the approach is encouragement of each student to develop his or her own exercise program with emphasis on life time fitness. This concept can be modified and flexible according to your needs and your available resourse’s.you will have to develop your own fitness program. You will have to start from first day of collage as they are coming for admission and take their data and accordingly you will have to plan it how to work throughout the year.

Take the help of your players as they start their practice immediately after the collage start and tell the student that they have to be compulsory on the ground either in the morning for half hour or in the evening and then they can practice their own fitness program and If they develop their interest in sports than increase your bench players. THE WHY:- Why they should exercise have a class room discussion with few topics on your desk and as you are in collage than take lectures in class room you will have to include the subject in time table. The topics on your desk can be Nature of physical Fitness Cardiovascular fitness Exercise and heart Exercise and Obesity Fitness evaluation Strength Flexibility Muscular endurance Care of back Agility. Program of exercise. THE HOW: - Student are thought how to exercise properly within their individual level Of fitness the exercise must be demonstrated and practical coordination must be explained for each fitness component you are requested to call them either in the morning or in the evening compulsory on the ground where your sports boys are practicing for them. You need not waste your time. At initial level they are well aware of practice and they know their importance of practicing you take care only of academicians. And the incentives of your college. THE WHAT: - Students engaged in the series of self testing procedure in order to learn the best techniques for them to follow in the future. You are requested to develop a physiology laboratory each student test profile will be saved and what you have to do is to give a perfect plan after looking to his physical fitness data. And recommend them a plan to maintain throughout the life. As they are coming on the ground if they develop a interest in skill test or any of the game then take them in your college team and you will get few good players. And at the same time take the written test of few games and sports so that they will be aware of meanwhile if they develop the psychology of sports and games means we have taught them to fight with the life and not with the syllabus. Try to make use of some computer technology add all the details and print a statement or profile which will include the routine f each of physical fitness of the players. In that there will be test scores and

suggestions for improving their weakness this grading should be compulsory for them In their mark sheets to pass their exams You are requested to make a physiology lab or if not possible check their fitness on ground. And in the collage the lab can be set up in the following way.
